Thunder and Warriors could be a thing.

But, might only be for one Season.

OKC has Russ , Adams locked up and Hoodie Melo for another Season.

But, George?

Dunno...they need to perform better.

It's still early...they have time to work out the kinks.

I just don't feel like the Thunder really pose a threat to the Warriors even with their current additions. I think the Thunder are struggling because of all the reasons people believed they wouldn't work well. From a talent perspective, they're great. From a fit perspective, I don't love it.

I have a feeling they'll be able to figure some sort of cohesion out, but not to a real threat level to the Warriors. IMO.

I have them firmly behind the Spurs and Rockets as threats to the Warriors.

If the Lakers can improve enough to challenge the Warriors while they are still good, I could see a bit of a rivalry developing. Especially with Luke having been a Warriors coach and them having The Logo as a consultant.

Definitely. The instate rivalries are always going to be a thing. Especially considering the Lakers fans have shit over the Warriors for years during their dominant times, I could see this being a thing. I remember not too long ago when the Warriors had a home game against the Lakers it would be an insane, almost majority amount of Laker fans in the stands. I heard from somewhere back when the Warriors sucked it was cheaper for LA fans to fly up to the bay area and get floor seats than to get anywhere near that close at Laker games.

Not to mention there was literally a waiting list for tickets at the Staples Center.

I became an NBA and Lakers fan right at the end of the Celtics 60's dominance when the hate between the 2 teams was still strong. As I said, the first thing I learned about being a Lakers fan was to hate the Celtics.

I'll always hate them and deeply respect them at the same time.

I just missed the 80's (born in 89), so I grew up and became a fan in the 90's and the rivalry was pretty much dead so I didn't give a damn about the Celtics. I still didn't like them, but my first HATE of the Celtics came in 2008.

It's not a rivalry in the traditional sense, but the Warriors and Spurs feel like they're on a collision path every year. I honestly don't care who's on the Spurs, but I'd still fear them over the Thunder or Rockets any day. The Spurs just have something about them that gives the Warriors problems.

Add a healthy Kawhi and a healthy TP and it would be a really tough matchup.
As long as Pop is their coach, you can never count the Spurs out no matter how good a team like the Warriors is.

If I had to guess, Durant being out probably vaults McCaw into the starting lineup and Swaggy taking over the back up SG role. Also probably means some increased minutes for Bell or Looney with the second unit.

Oh no. This could easily end badly.

No Horford tonight against the Lakers.

Damn... this could be a lingering type thing... IIRC, Horford missed weeks (multiple) last season with a concussion early on...

No luck with injuries so far for the C's...
