Pretty sure the Lindros year should be 1987
Even then he's not quite 14. I'm thinking 1991.

There are two reasons I want him to be a Penguin: he's good; watching Leafs fans lose their shit. It won't happen, but still.
Goes without saying.
lol - I didn't even bother to check his birthdate and do the math. I think you are correct sir.
/I was assuming just a transposition of the last two digits.
I'd be more than fine with taking the Pens' 1st rounder next season instead. Spread out the picks for the rebuild. Hell, right now I'd even like them to trade the package for Drouin. There are two reasons I want him to be a Penguin: he's good; watching Leafs fans lose their shit. It won't happen, but still.
The Star had a story the other day about the McDavid lotto and the Leafs actually had a much better chance than any other team as of the final ball and one of the Leaf balls was actually headed into the slot but it bounced out at the last second and the Coil ball fell in.I'm now envisioning this...lottery happens, the ping pong balls are lining up for Toronto. Down to the final two...Toronto and Pittsburgh. Already Leaf fans are uneasy. They know...they Know they should have both picks. The drama is just so great.

But having said that, I still think the Pens get into the playoffs. Looks like Sid is waking up, Kessel's scoring, they'll get injured players back etc.
One averages 109 pts per season, the other 72.You want to know something crazy that I didn't even realize until last night?
Sidney Crosby has 29 points in 37 games and every headline about him is "OMG what happened? He's trash now"
Meanwhile, Jonathan Toews has 24 points in 39 games. The narrative? "OMG he has OT goals and faceoff wins, soooooo clutch best player evar!"
Agreed, and really when shit goes this far south like it did at this tournament it's probably for the best that coaching falls on the sword rather than try to pass the buck onto a bunch of 18 and 19 year olds."I thought our team was very well prepared, I thought we had as good a coaching staff at the competition as anyone," Renney said in defending head coach Dave Lowry and his staff. "There's no doubt in my mind that our guys put the time and effort in to have the team ready to go. There is a point in time where that transfer of responsibility goes from the coach to the player. We're talking about teenagers that have to cope and deal with situations in the spontaneity of hockey that sometimes work against you and sometimes don't.
"The bottom line is the coaching staff did an excellent job."
I get that Renney doesn't want to throw anybody under the bus, but this was not a well coached team.

We self-flagellate in these parts as often as possible. That's just cruel...I mean, missing out hurts, but why even create that visual, hahaha.
They're very different players who do the things they do exceptionally well, and I agree that the team around those two is definitely the reason for those Cups because no two players on earth can win Cups on their own. Pittsburgh is a great example of that. You just don't understand leadership, obviously. I actually saw a tweet the other night that said "maybe Crosby just said 'I wonder what would happen if I produced at a Toews level' for a few months." I lol'd. Toews is good, very good, but that teams success has been how it's been built around him and Kane.
