For the love of god Buck hit anyone else on this team in the 3 hole. He has the player with the lowest average on the team hitting 3. I know its Jones a former All-star but he's either hurt or in a massive slump. Rickard hasn't looked to go either. I rather see both Reimold and Kim playing the corner outfield.

Looks like they've been listening since Buck moved Jones to the 2 slot tonight. Just surprised he has Kim batting 6th.

I have a feeling that these scoring droughts are going to occur quite intermittently throughout the season. Still relying on the long ball, otherwise they rarely score. Very frustrating to watch given all the offensive "talent" they have.

By analogy of "burn the bullpen early and often," perhaps they should do the same with the bench by pinch-hitting in late innings more frequently? The idea is simple: If the starters aren't hitting well, it wouldn't hurt to give someone else a chance.

I still think Jones isn't 100%, which could be causing him to be hitting worse than normal. I think he should probably be benched for a few days, just to be on the safe side and have Reimold in RF, Rikkard in CF and Kim in LF. So maybe a lineup like this perhaps:

2. Reimold RF
3. Machado SS
4. Davis 1B
5. Trumbo DH
6. Wieters C
7. Schoop 2B
8. Alvarez 3B
9. Kim LF

Bench - Jones, Joseph, Flaherty

kim is a slapper they will soon play shallow and start taking some of his slap hits away .

He's another Paredes. Can't adjust when the league adjusts to him. We need Alvarez at 3rd, Trumbo at DH, Kim in LF and Reimold in RF.

But Jones hasn't gotten out of his slump yet... and benching both Jones and Rickard would require an outfield of Kim / Reimold / Trumbo. Yikes... that is going to be horrible on defense. (I would swap Davis and Trumbo in that scenario.)

hell no wright has the stuff today was a lot of hits on good pitches . it's not but one way for them to learn we just need to score some runs . rickard hasn't shown me shit in the outfield lately Nolan plays a better outfield than rickard

I agree that this is probably one of those games that you would lose no matter what... at least the Red Sox lost as well.

Looks like you are correct from the standpoint of UZR/150. I was mostly referring about the fact that you cannot DH Trumbo if you're benching both Jones and Rickard...

If the unthinkable happens (say, Jones ends up on the DL), who would you call up from AAA? I'm not sure if I like any of the options available...
