Russell is a former Medicine Hat Tiger (although with the Shinkaruk trade I'm not sure I can use that line anymore).

The Canucks get a guy who has proven he can play in the NHL for a guy who has yet to really have a chance to prove if he can play in the NHL. From an asset management standpoint, Granlund was in tough to stick with the Flames (Calgary is quite deep at centre) and they pick up a winger who can skate and had a pretty sweet pair of mitts., I like the fact that BT is rolling the dice with Shinky, it might not work out, but I think it's a good gamble.

I think the return rate is higher for the flames. I'm starting to think Benning is a better scout than a manager..
