I cannot envision a scenario where Staal provides any benefit of note over whatever player he bumps down the Rangers lineup. In that regard, this trade is a waste of two second rounders and a decent prospect.

Get what you can get

He said it publically but at the same time i hope he was just saying it so hes not signalling to the ticket buying public that the tank is on. The delicate dance shit

If he insists on prospects as return theres a chance no deals happen :L

Glen Sather's last kick at the can for a Stanley Cup, BBB. The next GM can clean up the train wreck that Slats is leaving behind.

I wonder how much women's curling or World Hockey Championship replays TSN can air as filler in place of the trade deadline show.

Apparently the Rangers aren't done. Still looking for a top-6 forward. Believe Eberle and Atkinson are the targets. Though, don't expect either to be acquired.

Now that their cupboard is a little more barren....

Perfect for Benning..... only way he can trade is to take back less

Still got teuvo and pokka. Talk they were willing to part with teuvo last week

Benning doesnt want picks anyways

this should be reverse, he is better at drafting

Imac is benning/lindens mouthpiece

What he said on tsn1040:

Problem with Benning is that he seems to actually openly broadcast what he would be happy to receive. I dont think he can ever fleece anyone .. ever

Are you kidding me, aside from the '89 Stanley Cup, that was one of the greatest SCF in history :D

It was so bad and I wanted Carolina to lose so I actually cheered for Edmonton... But not Calgary the year before :D I was fully a Bolts supporter.

For sure ... So it begs the question yet again. Who is calling the shots regarding the future direction of the franchise???

If you can get two 2nd round picks for Yakupov, you drive Nail to the airport.

Nash is welcome to come home. We left the lights on for him.

Jeff Gorton took over this past summer.

Well, he had to do something since retiring from NASCAR.

If you get 2 2nd round picks for him YOU WASTED A FIRST OVERALL.

We need Nash, despite his lack of scoring in the playoffs, this team needs him.

There seems to be a lot of interest shown by the Dallas Stars in Kris Russell if I'm reading the twitterverse correctly. It behooves me to point out that Jim Nill (Stars GM) is a former Medicine Hat Tiger as is Kris Russell.
