So we gave up 3 sweet picks this year but if we hit on the QB, TE, and 1 WR this is a dam good draft.

I like both WRs and the TE Higbie. Not sure why we didn't take Scooby and took a very slow ILB in Forrest, but...

Let's just hope we can block for this kid.

Nice CFB TD, just not a catch in the NFL.

Here's his pro day results...

Wide receiver Mike Thomas -- 6-foot-1 1/4, 193 pounds -- ran the 40-yard dash in 4.55 and 4.53 seconds. He had a 36-inch vertical and 10-foot-11 broad jump. He did the 20-yard short shuttle in 4.29 seconds and the three-cone drill in 7.06 seconds. He also had 16 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press. Thomas had a very good positional workout, and likely will be selected in the 2016 NFL Draft.

Taking two TEs threw me a bit, and I wasn't very familiar with Forrest, but all in all I like what the Rams did with limited assets. Obviously many of us named guys like Higbee and Thomas by name, and having Pharoh still available in the 4th was a surprise. Trading down in the 4th without missing out on Pharoh to get the 6th rounder that ends up being Mike Thomas was HUGE.

ON TO THE UDFAs!!!!

Definitely some decent DE's and CB's still available.

Powell, Striker, Cowser, Allen/Brendel, and Peterson as UDFAs would really finish this off nicely.

Los Angeles Rams
Positions of Need: QB; WR; OL; S; CB
Need

Drafted

Needs Analysis:
The Rams are still looking for their long-term answer at QB and a wide receiver they can build their passing game around. Finding additional cornerback and safety help will be especially important with the departures of Rodney McLeod and Janoris Jenkins.

Round 1
, Pick 1 (1) (From Titans) Jared Goff QB 6'4" 215 California 6.5

VIDEO Rams pick Jared Goff No.1

Pick Analysis:
"He fits what they do. He can play on Day 1. The Rams have a strong running game and stout defense. That minimizes what he has to think about. Goff has a very quick release and gets the ball out of his hands quickly. He has innate pocket awareness, which is so critical at the NFL level." -- Mike Mayock

Round 4
, Pick 12 (110) Tyler Higbee TE 6'6" 249 Western Kentucky 5.6

VIDEO Rams select Tyler Higbee No. 110

Pick Analysis: The Rams apparently felt comfortable enough with Higbee's recent off-field issues and history of injuries to select one of the more dynamic receiving TEs early Day 3. The former WR and preseason Biletnikoff watchlister gives their new franchise QB a field-stretcher at TE after losing Jared Cook in free agency. -Mark Dulgerian

Round 4
, Pick 19 (117) (From Bears through Bills) Pharoh Cooper WR 5'11" 203 South Carolina 5.6

VIDEO Rams pick Pharoh Cooper No. 117

Pick Analysis:
The Rams don't have a ton of picks, but it's clear they want to use them to improve an offense that finished last in total yards last season. Cooper is a QB-friendly catch and run specialist with outstanding toughness with the ball in his hands. He has a chance to see early time as their No.3 WR option with upside. --Mark Dulgerian

Round 6
, Pick 2 (177) (From Titans) Temarrick Hemingway TE 6'5" 244 South Carolina St. 5.0

VIDEO Rams pick Temarrick Hemingway No. 177

Pick Analysis:
Hemingway helped himself by testing well at the Combine, but he was very productive at the FCS level in the passing game. He's a receiver first and can provide some match-up problems. Given the questions surrounding their earlier TE pick, this is an insurance selection at worst. --Mark Dulgerian

Round 6
, Pick 15 (190) Josh Forrest ILB 6'3" 249 Kentucky 5.2

VIDEO Rams pick Josh Forrest No. 190

Pick Analysis:
The former WR is rangy with the athleticism and length the Rams could test off the edge. He's a solid late round addition to a team that needs depth at this position. --Mark Dulgerian

Round 6
, Pick 31 (206) (From Bears through Panthers) Mike Thomas WR 6'1" 200 Southern Miss 5.2

VIDEO Rams pick Mike Thomas No. 206

Pick Analysis:
Thomas is a "worker bee" WR with exceptional hands. His late draft position is a result of his inability to separate. He'll get a chance to compete for one of the Rams' last receiver spots. --Mark Dulgerian
