For a bench player that is fine. The shooting % isn't what you want it to be but I don't think any one with a brain would have a problem with someone off their bench avg about 10 PPG. That is solid production for the role he was in.

Heck, at $3 mil a year that is a GREAT move by Miami

His shot selection never been great but if he can avg 13-16 PPG and get his shooting % up to 43 or 44 I'll be happy with him

i like Waiters there too if he has figured out he is not the #1 option....dude seriously thought he was better than Kyrie and should get shots on the same line with Lebron...

not even joking

I think @Shanemansj13 and I recently had this exact conversation.

Dude was smoking on Keisha!

itll be interesting to see Dion once he reaches his prime if he ever really matures and learns the game and learns how to play team basketball. There is a ton of talent there. The kid is really fast and really strong and can definitely slash to the rim. Occasionally he can even shoot from 3....it always comes down to shot selection and working with his teammates.

like i guarantee you - well- at least a couple years ago- Dion's mentality right now is that he KNOWS that he should get the most shots per game on this Heat team...that confidence is good- but he needs to learn how to play team ball.

Waiters is ideally suited for the role he played in OKC. He is a great value at his current contract, but I worry about the fit and lack of floor spacing with Winslow and Waiters as starting wings. If Bosh is playing, they might be okay. If not, half court offense is going to be really ugly.

Dion waiters was not good last season but.... At the price is a solid signing

"Waiters averaged 9.8 points for the Oklahoma City Thunder last year, but had several big games in the playoffs. His offensive burst with the second unit helped the Thunder keep pace when stars Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrookneeded rest, and his aggressive mentality fit well with a bench unit that needed some force.

Waiters played particularly well against Dallas and San Antonio in the playoffs, helping the Thunder advance to the Western Conference finals against Golden State."

Waiters, Heat agree to 2-year deal, source says

Boy, the Heat must be one shitty organization.

I don't want to be too cynical here... but that's easy to say after the fact.

Its hard not to at least wonder if he really had it to do all over again if he wouldn't go back a few weeks and accept that $8m/yr qualifying offer from OKC.

Miami has been a good spot for rehabilitating certain players as it pertains to helping get their career on the right track. Sometimes it doesn't workout, but other times it does.
