Because OKC would surely require a package like Ingram and another quality piece, which would make it more unlikely that Westbrook would resign. Learn from the Knicks mistakes here guys. The Melo trade set them back at least 6-7 years.
Yes but also learn from other teams that thing they are going to land a player but never do. Things happen. Go get your guy, its that simple. OKC wouldnt have much leverage. Lakers can offer a 1st and Russell and that should get in done. Maybe another player. Maybe Swaggy P

Golden St. traded away Bogut and let Barnes walk because they were still under the salary cap. They also didn't re-sign Ezeli. The Cavs roster is nowhere near that of the Warriors in terms of open salary. Lebron still has a hefty cap hold as of now.

Unless Lebron's signing for about $10 mil so D-Wade can get his money.
Looks like Cavs have enough money. Dont resign JR and they already let Delly and Moz go. They are on the right track to sign wade. They can offer him 15-18 mill.

They have $74 million tied into their contracts and have $20 million left. You probably didn't notice that this doesn't include Lebron's potential max contract. Notice that field is blank.

Yeah but Cavs can find away. If GS can find a way to sign KD Cavs will find a way to sign Wade. Its not that hard. As you can see in the NBA u can go over the Cap. Its not a hard cap. Easy to work your way around it.

Also, please explain to me how the Cavs get D-Wade while also signing Lebron to a max. You can go over the cap with your own players, not with free agents.

Probably wording got the best of me there. He was after a ring, but I guess chasing wasn't the right word.

If he stays put then I agree it isn't chasing. A ton of guys are after rings, who isn't lol

Yes I didnt see LBJ. Overall they can get rid Iman 9 mill or Frye or Love. They can make it happen if they really wanted to.

Correct. What you don't see on that chart is LeBron's 30m cap hold and JR's 10m cap hold.

They'll have to get rid of Love. Given Wade's approach to free agency - it's about money. They'll need that open salary for Wade.

Lebron would have to sign for $20 mil and renounce JR's bird rights. Then they'd have to trade Love for Wade to get his salary that he wanted. Lebron also said he's not playing for anything under the max again.

Exactly thats why you sign Wade 1st then LBJ.

You can't do that. Lebron has a $30 million cap hold. Although it shows that they only have $74 million tied in contracts. When you add JR and Lebron's $10 and $30 million dollar cap holds respectively, they have about $114 million tied in right now. The CBA prevents loop holes of what you're suggesting. Why do you think the Cavs haven't been in the running for any other free agents?

I think Pat holds off. Wade wants 50 mill instead of 40 mill. If Im Pat I say thanks Wade but I think its time to part ways or at least go look at other teams.

Miami has no shot the next couple years. Too many questions goung forward. Pay wade whst he wants. He was your franchise. Sign him 2 years and be done with it

If I was a Heat fan I'd have WAY more appreciation/loyalty for Wade than Riley.... but I'm not... so maybe I'm off base??

Depends on where he goes. If he chases money than sure. But to go to the Cavs where they can't pay you the money that Miami can is a slap in the face.

Lebron will get his jersey in the rafters in Miami eventually, it'll take a while. Shaq's getting his and didn't leave Miami on good terms, so will Lebron.

It sucks that Miami team fell apart. I really thought they had a shot next year in the East.

Since stephen A is giving us shit for getting durant. I cant wait for him to completely support wade to the cavs lul

If it turns out that Wade would actually go to Cleveland, it's essentially fanbases split on either going for the Cavs or going for the Warriors.

Sign me up with the Warriors.
