All I know is with all of this money being thrown around...I'm coming out of retirement. I used to average 18 points a game as a 6'2" point forward in a 6'5" and under league that I played in years ago.

I should be able to get a 2-3 year deal at $4-5 million per...right? :noidea:

3/36 and not a penny more!

why though? they are all making money

like i said- the revenue is split 50/50.....all this money the players are getting- the owners are getting it too. Its guaranteed that way...if its not a 50/50 split at the end of the year every single guys paycheck in the NBA is corrected either up or down proportionally.

the owners HAVE to get to the salary cap floor just in order to split revenues with the players- and this spending is what its gonna take just to get to NEAR 50%

Cause it's their only shot for any type of parity.
Personally, I don't care about parity, cause Miami has certain advantages.

the only saving grace with the Smith thing is that i cant see teams that are out of it contention wise- paying him- a 31 year old with a history.....hes kinda like Whiteside in that he would do well for himself to stay in Cleveland.

The luxury tax payments will be interesting. You have to remember- there are 2 significant numbers- the salary cap line- and the tax line. Last year the salary cap was about 70 million and the luxury tax line was about 85.....so- lets just assume that stays fairly constant and the lux tax line is about 20% more than the salary cap line.

The cap this year is 94--- this the luxury tax line will likely be about 110 million. Thats an extra 25 million in luxury tax room from last year- and should encompass most of what the Cavs tax burden was last year......unless they go nuts and use their Bird Rights to bring back Mozzy and Delly and use the trade exception and just go bonkers- which doesnt really make sense since it burns any chance they have at cap room going forward on guys that didnt even play in the Finals.

The Cavs- even if they have a higher team payroll this year will pay much much less in overall costs because that lux. tax line is so much higher this year.

Agreed. Cleveland just needs to find a serviceable back up center to replace Mozgov. I doubt they'll offer him the $65 mil he's getting from the Lakers. I'm sure Delly will be back.

no one knows how to judge anything...scale is whacked out.

Honestly, I don't think anything with the Heat is happening tonight.
I'm just staying up late cause I'm texting with my kid who is pulling an all nighter for an early test tomorrow.

now

To put even more perspective on Lakers choice on Mozgov. Been told door was open on Pau's side for a return.
