IF there is a prop bet on Jr Smith's shooting percentage TAKE THE UNDER! LOL.
JR will get getting fluids on the bench without even playing, lol.lol You got JR in LA for St. Patricks Day on a Friday, followed by being in LA on Saturday after playing the Clips, so he's going to have a double hangover and Lebron possibly sitting out.
The Lakers might get a win. lol
? Gobert has defnitely been the better rim protector by any stat you can find this year...not even really close
fg% at the rim, defensive plus minus, blocks etc....you know Gobert is a better player than Whiteside.
He was, no doubt, but like I mentioned yesterday, Utah just took it.
It was like a matador at a bullfight.
No player should get to the rim time after time like that without any resistance.
#tryitonWhiteside
That's probably the biggest thing I miss about how the game was played in the 80's and 90's when they had the "no layups" rule. If a player started getting to the rim too much, someone was knocking him on his ass.
Nowadays, guys risk getting kicked out of the game and suspended.
I empathize with the fans that buy tickets and don't get to see a good product.
BUT... here's the thing.
What about the thousands of fans who spend their money and time watching tv games, buyging jerseys, getting league pass, etc? That makes up a huge amount of a team's revenue - moreso than ticket sales.
There is a small group of fans who only go to a game or two a year that care more about the product for that one game than they do the overall product. But the vast majority of fans care much more about the product their team puts on the floor over the course of a season - and multiple seasons - than they do about the product for any one game. And those fans are the reasons the nba is raking in the dough.
If resting a player helps the overall product--- its best for the team and the fans. At least most of the fans. It does really suck for a few fans, though.
there should be designated "rest games," they should all be home games and the tickets for those games should be sold at a discount.
My corned beef & cabbage will be ready around 12:30.![]()
I'll always understand why teams rest players, but I'll never like it or agree with it. Players are paid millions of dollars to play ALL of the games. As I've pointed out before, during the '72 Lakers 33 game win streak, they had 4 sets of back to back to back games and won all of them. They had 3 players age 30 and older in their starting lineup.
However, if the NBA is going to continue to allow this then there should be designated "rest games," they should all be home games and the tickets for those games should be sold at a discount.
I'm working today and with the time left and the time I will get home, mine would be dry. I'm tomorrow, so I'll be having my corned beef and cabbage and lots of Guinness tomorrow.
However, in order to keep my streak of never letting a St. Patty's day go by without having corned beef and cabbage, I'll be going to a local pub for lunch.
Ok. Makes perfect sense to me, but to each his own.
I'm not just talking about Kyrie and Bron.
Give me the record of literally any player when their the best player on their team sits out for rest and I really won't care. It won't mean anything to me. I just don't see how it could.
When a player is supposedly also a star like Kyrie, they should be stepping up their game and leading the team when the best guy sits. That's their opportunity to show why they are also a star player. Of course you don't expect the Cavs to have as good a record when Lebron sits and Kyrie plays, but you don't expect it to be as abysmal as it is.
If nothing else, pure professional pride should demand it.
Hopefully the new scheduling will at least slow it down.
You couldnt plan rest days cause you cant plan potential real injuries.
