lol, swear to Abe Lincoln, if you didn't have your 3 favorite teams underneath your name and that avatar, I'd think you were from San Fran and wore your Curry jersey 364 days out of the year.

I would suggest you that you go back and read through the entire Thunder/Warriors series thread from last year. Heck I even made a post earlier this season on this thread about how I hope we can get a Spurs/Clippers vs a team not name Cleveland in the finals. I don't care for the Cavs or Warriors

I don't know... even without Durant... the Warriors still have an elite roster.

Of course their title chances would take a hit... but if I were a Warriors fan I'd still have reasonable hope of a title even if Durant wasn't coming back.

The struggles to adjust mid-season are of course expected... but the Warriors would still have enough talent as is to compete for the title - even if they wouldn't be the overwhelming favorites like they are now.

Maybe so, but the reason they have been so great in the past is the because of their depth and bench. That bench has lost a lot of luster this year. That being said, the only team I could legimately beating them in the West is the Spurs. Houston could push them into a tough series but I dont know.

You have to depend on Waiters...is what it comes down to. He won't make it, he is all in his own head. Waiters has stretches where he is good and long stretches where falls apart. We will see how he handles it.

You do realize we're 65 games in and he's been playing this way basically the entire season right? Also with the Heat roster they don't depend on any single player. It is really a group effort.

The Spurs are an interesting case, because they have just as much of a history of being upset in the playoffs as they do of wiping the floor in the playoffs.

Seems like the Spurs always either win the title or make a surprisingly early exit.

The Warriors are still the best team.
Even without Durant, they would win 59-62 games with the remaining talent.

They lost an MVP candidate.....and they lost a definite first team all-NBA superstar.
Any team would struggle a bit to adjust.

But, they are still damn good. That bench argument only can go so far.

The bench is a good "I told you so" storyline, but it was the right move.
Every team in the league would have done the same thing.

Didn't realize how close the race for 8th got in the west.

4 teams separated by 2.5 games. Would love to see Minnesota make it

This is the first time the Spurs have had a PRIME Kiwi Leonard though, a PRIME SF is much better than a PRIME PF/C, in Duncan.

Mavs are close too. How crazy would it be if they made it with their makeshift roster.

That's been his career so far, but maybe something finally clicked?
It happens.
That talent has always been there.
Maybe just another case of the Heat culture bringing it out.
He's been unreal since he and Dragic have started together.

Prime Duncan is a top 15 player in NBA history, possibly even arguably top 10.

Almost as crazy as the Heat making it after starting 11-30 :heh:

From a talent perspective, who do you think has more, Mavs or Heat? I'm kind of torn in thinking about it.

You get used to it.... I'm saying this now while the weather is great... but hey, I'll take 7-8 months of terrific weather and deal with the 4 months of hell. Beats snow. And if you wanna go snowboard just drive 2 hours up to Flagstaff and boom. Cali & Vegas are close drives as well... location, location, location.
Yea, we get all of those same options here in Sac & the SF Bay Area- but without that ridiculous heat.

exactly- if they dont have durant- and they are running a 9 man rotation that consists after their Big 3 of Iggy, Livingston, Pachulia, West, Clark, Barnes, whatever- it wouldnt go 7 that is for damn sure.

He's top 10 player, and the best of his generation over Kooby.

Doesn't change the fact I'd rather have a PRIME SF, who plays elite defense, can shoot the 3 ball, and score at will, over a PRIME PF/C, it's more about the position here and not the player.

Fair enough.

But we saw the stat earlier. The team goes when Waiters goes. Pretty good player no doubt but mentally he has never been there.

And he has started 39 games lol. One half of a season. He had a stretch like that in Cleveland as well.
