Without Durant, the Warriors will struggle with their bench against elite defensive level teams. Against teams who are generally on the poor side, they'd have a good/decent shot of winning.

If the Warriors were without Durant, I'd much rather face the Cavs than say the Celtics in the finals. I'd much rather face the Rockets than say the Grizzlies.

From a talent perspective, who do you think has more, Mavs or Heat. I'm kind of torn in thinking about it.

I'll probably say the Heat. Lots of solid players on Miami. Basically missing a star. Whiteside, Dragic, Tyler Johnson, James Johnson, Waiters, Richardson, & Ellington are all good/decent players.

He's top 10 player, and the best of his generation over Kooby.

Doesn't change the fact I'd rather have a PRIME SF, who plays elite defense, can shoot the 3 ball, and score at will, over a PRIME PF/C, it's more about the position here and not the player.

You still have to put players around him regardless. It will be difficult to have a team better than those great Spurs' teams did and TD was the man.

But we saw the stat earlier. The team goes when Waiters goes. Pretty good player no doubt but mentally he has never been there.

And he has started 39 games lol. One half of a season. He had a stretch like that in Cleveland as well.

Because he was hurt.....

I just think it speaks to the quality coaching both teams have. I wasn't a true believer in Spo until this year. Carlisle has always been really good.

The Cavs RIGHT NOW maybe. The playoff Cavs and a healthy squad I would bet 10 times out of 10 you would rather face the Celtics. They have zero experience deep in the playoffs and in the Finals. They have a great defensive squad but it is just a different moment in the Finals.

All you have to do is look at Waiters month by month split. He's been pretty consistent this year. Never been a drop off in production.

Do those games count if he isn't on the floor lol. The point is he has always been inconsistent, a great stretch and for Miami fans I hope he keeps it up.

Of course. I'm talking about just now. If the Warriors were 100% healthy, I'd choose the Celtics to play over the Cavs as you said 10 out of 10 times.

Mavs/Heat comparison is interesting.

Both over performing, both have fantastic coaches, both have young players that are playing really well.

The Mavs have Nowitzki though, that might be the tiebreaker for me.

id say for me the tie breaker is barnes- he is the only guy on either team that i think has the potential to even be a #2 on a contending team. With apologies to Dirk- hes a LITTLE long in the tooth at this point.

As I said before look at his month by month splits. His numbers has looked pretty similar for the entire season.

But then again, you're assuming that team is at 100% health. Say the Warriors had the same exact team as last year and Barnes gets hurt. There's no way that team is a favorite to beat the Cavs this year.
Except that they couldn't win WITH Barnes last year....

Make up your mind LAD, they COULDN"T win, or they didn't win because Draymond got suspended.

You can't have your cake and eat it too

If Barnes plays even halfway decent, the Draymond suspension is irrelevant. Look at his last 3 games in the finals. That really tells the story.

Yeah Barnes was horrific. Just like Festus, the 2016 finals made the Warriors decision much easier on if they wanted to keep them or not.

But you do realize a series is at least 4-7 games the reason why I say inconsistent is bc the Heat are depending on him as the 3rd scorer, 2nd guard, at least most of the time. You can see the inconsistency for most of the season if you look at his game log. He has always been this way. But he has been pretty damn good recently, still doesn't change the fact he is inconsistent though.
