i DEFINITELY dont consider Towns or Davis centers- especially "traditional centers".....shit...how many "traditional centers" are there?-- can you call Marc Gasol a "traditional center" when he is raining triples at nearly 40% and 2nd on his team in assists? What do you consider The Unibrow (27.8 ppg, 11.7 rebs, 2.2 asts, 1.2 stls, 2.3 blks) & Boogie (22.1 ppg, 13.6 rebs, 3.7 asts, 1.4 stls, 1.0 blk)? You know who isn't an elite C? Tristan Thompson (8.1 pts, 9.7 rebs, 1.0 ast, 0.5 stls, 1.1 blks).
like Brook Lopez- traditional center...Andre Drummond, Rudy Gobert, DeAndre Jordan, Blancote, Adams, Valuncuinas, maybe myles turner and greg monroe? anyone else worth mentioning?
Cousins even plays more the style of a PF then a traditional center.
I think in the NBa the center position as a pure label is pretty irrelevant--- i think its much more accurate- especially with the confluene of pg/sg/combo guards to label players in one of three baskets----
guards
wings
bigs
how many "traditional" point guards are there? how many "traditional centers"--- all you are doing when saying these guys are "traditional" centers or "traditional" point guards is that they are too limited to be versatile- and in todays NBA versatility is the name of the game.
