Pat McCaw with a pedestrian line of 4 pts, 2 rebounds and 1 steal in 16 minutes of the game against the New York Knicks.

HOWEVER, 7 of those 16 minutes came in the 4th quarter, closing the game with Steph, Klay, Draymond and Iguodala. Most notably, McCaw guarded Derrick Rose who had dominated earlier in the game. McCaw ends up with a +13 on the game. He played in crunch time over Barnes, Livingston, West, Pachulia, McGee and Clark.

But he totally sucks.

Damn right Patrick McCaw sucks. wiggy said it. And I'm pretty sure he's an NBA scout.

I doubt Whiteside ever offers any hometown discount.
Why would/should he?

I doubt it as well. As far as why - to improve the roster around you. Him making in the mid-30 to $40 million per year would not allow us to put much around him. Especially since he'd be 34-35 at the near end of his next long-term deal. We'd have to rely on sound drafting. Which as much as I like Riley, he doesn't like to go that route.

Yep.
No reason to look 4-5 years ahead on a player who is black balled league wide (except for 6 teams who offered him a max).

I agree. And it's amazing to watch the rehabilitation work that both the Heat and Whiteside have done for the latter's career. As Wigs likes to tell us constantly, this guy was dwelling in the d-league. Now he looks better with a max contract and barring major injury, is likely set to get one more major contract. It's a possibility that he'd make $300 mil over his career once it's over.

If I was Whiteside I'd wanna get the hell away from the Heat organization as fast as possible. Riley has lost it & actually never had it, just got lucky a few times. Hassan in Celtic green @ less than what the Heat offer sounds like a good idea.
I agree. just not much upward mobility in the standings there in the long run. No "elite" player on the team and very little means to secure one going forward- unlike hte Celtics.
I think that means were doing good?

LOL at Cavs D.
Thats more like an F
when they base the standings off of graphs like that- it certainly seems the Heat will no longer be in the lotto!

as i said at the beginning of the year- its not that these guys SUCK- its just that i would never trust a rookie for a significant role on a championship level team.

ITs why i am glad the Cavs had such a compelling draw to top level buy out guys so they dont have to gamble on the Felder's and McRae's in important games.

Ill tell ya one thing- if the Cavs and Warriors ever end up seeing eachother on the Finals- ill be DELIGHTED to see McCaw on the court. lol.

Perfect example- Matt Barnes--- long term would i rather have McCaw? OF COURSE. Barnes has been there for 20 minutes and has already surpassed him in the rotation- as he should. He is a vet that knows what he is doing and can be trusted as opposed to a rookie 2nd rounder that, if he is playing in the playoffs, means something is going wrong.

How Kyrie Irving became the best dribbler in the NBA

Great read:

Pay attention to the crowd and the Cleveland Cavaliers’ bench when Kyrie Irving is about to dribble.

Irving’s bag of tricks includes quick crossovers, hesitation moves and hard dribbles that can lead to step-back or step-side jumpers. There is also his trademark baseline dribble to an athletic reverse lay-in over an always late big man or a quick pass to a wide-open teammate. Always pretty. Always unstoppable. Always creative.

And once Irving’s use of his “weapon” on the poor defender is complete, fans and his teammates are always on their feet laughing and shaking their heads in amazement as the unguardable guard glides back on defense.

Stephen Curry, James Harden, Chris Paul and Jamal Crawford are NBA guards with undoubtedly intimidating handles. But when it comes to the best dribbler in the NBA, the name Kyrie Irving seems to come up the most.

The rest of the NBA seems to agree.

“Hands down, Kyrie has the best ball-handling skills that we have in our league,Atlanta Hawks All-Star forward Paul Millsap said. “The way he reads defenses, the way he reads your feet, it’s unbelievable … His biggest asset is his creativity. He is one of the most creative point guards we have.”

Kyrie has the best handle of all time,” said Houston Rockets guard Eric Gordon. “Very creative and uses different motions, as well.”

Matt Barnes- been there for 2 minutes and he is already ahead of them

for PRECISELY the reason i said at the beginning of the year. You take a vet that has a clue over a 2nd round rookie every single day of the week when you are a team trying to win a title.

Kay Felder, every time he is sent to the dleague lights it up- has done some decent things for the Cavs here or there- but if he is playing minutes during the playoffs- that means David Griffin hasnt done his job.

You're right.

2000 is pretty awful too.

But, my point is based on the fact that all the guys named are eligible for a extension this Summer and Wiggins is the only guy who is a No brainer to get one.

I'm not saying all the rest are scrubs. I'm saying I wouldn't extend any of them this Summer unless it's at a deep discount.
what draft are you guys talking about?

the 2015 draft looks pretty crappy to be honest....

a few really good guys- but not much depth

Towns is #1 obviously
Porzingis is #2
Booker #3
Turner #4

id say thats the top tier from that draft- the guys that look like they should be all stars

the next tier of guys...def. still have some potential- but arent on the level as those top 4

the

Russells, Johnsons, Mudiays, Winslows, WCS, Lyles, ---shit i want to see Terry Rozier- i think he has some really good potential.

after that- not a whole lot has really shown up yet.

The graph started as of what date?
How many teams have a better record then the Heat since that day?

Are we betting the game tonight?
Give me 15 points?

Mark Cuban says that Russell Westbrook should not be in the discussion for MVP. :stephena::burt:
i think there is a valid point Cuban is trying to make- i think "not in the discussion" is going a little too far- but the precedent for voting a guy for MVP who's team is the 7th seed is practically non existent.

RW is my favorite non Cav in the league- dont get me wrong.....but its hard for me to vote a guy on a team tahts 7th in the conference.

James Harden's team is 3rd in the West. LeBrons team is 1st in the East. Id have RW 4th behind those two, and Kawhi Leonard.
