So the Lakers traded Lou Williams. He was probably their best player. Never thought I'd see the day when the Lakers go into tank-mode.

I'd never thought I'd see the day where the Lakers were trying to replicate what the Warriors were doing. What world are we living in?

The NBA was a helluva lot tougher back in the 80's.
seriously....lol....you could beat the crap outta guys back then.

imagine the NFL 20 years ago though- dudes had to be getting concussions ALL THE TIME.

play baseball...much more civilized.

@gordontrue

im kinda coming around on Beverly the more i think about it....it would be really interesting to see him play some point and have KI and Bron off the ball here and there.

plus--- he would be a nice matchup vs. Curry...

I like Shumpert - but if there is one place the Cavs have some depth- esp. with Williams now- its on the wing....though- if you deal shumpert you NEED a defensive player like Beverly back.

i could see a lineup of :

Beverly, Kyrie, Bron, Thompson, Love give teams fits.

it had its plusses and minuses....

now guys dont get hurt as much-- as far as basketball concerned- its a better game....like Austin Carr says it all the time on Cavs broadcasts- if i played nowadays my career would have been 5 years longer- you have no imagine the beating you took going to the hole back then.

As I mentioned before, Cleveland may have to go through a gauntlet of tough PG's on the way to the finals, and then have to face another one there. Beverly would be a perfect fit for you guys. But it sounds like Houston is intent on keeping him. I don't think Shumpert gets it done, tbh. The Rockets also have to go through a PG gauntlet in the west.

I just liked watching bitter rival beat the crap out of each other back in the day.

shumpert has and will play those guys just fine. He is athletic enough to guard PG's- and with his size its a nice advantage. Its just offensivly he doesnt really do much besides shoot- which is kind of a shame considering the type of athlete he is- he can run on the break- but he really never goes to the hole or anything- probably by design though really.

thats why i liked the williams acquisition- hes not lighting the world on fire- but the Cavs needed another guy besides Thompson that can roll on the pick and roll.

of course kyrie and bron can- but someone that can make a play when one of those 2 guys are sitting. think of most of the Cavs ancillary guys- Smith, Korver, Frye, Shumpert--- all shooters--- none of them guys you want rolling in a pick and roll.

Williams is a nice compliment to that.

I agree Shumpert holds his own, but Beverly is elite defensively for his position. Added that he can serve as a much needed backup point guard and that just builds value IMO.

I did like like (for the Cavs) their acquisition of Williams. His athleticism fits the team really well. He doesn't do much for them defensively, but offensively he just adds another dimension to that second unit.

That McHale clothesline that someone posted a picture of earlier wasn't even a technical foul back then. Just a common, 2 shot foul.

Today, he'd probably get kicked out of the league and face criminal charges. lol
