I am just getting tired of it. I know it supposedly works, but it is not fun as a fan.
At no point in 99,03,05,07, and 14 did anyone say "WOW. The Spurs are so fully rested."

If anything this crap cost the team the #2 seed in 2009 and 2015.
Both times they were one single REST game short.

2015 truly sucked, because the Spurs were the only team able to beat GSW. I truly believe they would have defended their title had they gotten that #2 seed, but Popovich rested them out by one game and they got the 6 seed instead.
I don't see the issue with what pop is doing. They're not catching the warriors while they're pretty far ahead of Houston who is the 3rd seed. Basically they're locked into that 2 seed unless something crazy happens

Now that was a really good, fun regular season game last night. Its definitely nice to go into Washington and serve them notice who the East heavyweights are and break their 17 home winning streak. It felt like with how great Beale and Porter played- that the Cavs took their best punch to some extent.

Of course- LeBron DID have to hit a crazy three on a CRAZY pass from Kevin Love---- 17 assists for Lebron last night were a CAREER high. Thats pretty impressive- but when you have weapons like Love and Kyrie around you- (particularly Love last night) it seems that it was just a matter of time before hit a new career-high in assists.

Kyrie had some gas left in the tank during overtime. The Cavs got down by 4 early in overtime and then LeBron fouled out--- and then Kyrie just started SHREDDING. He was relentless- and knocking down that 3 in Beale's face with 30 seconds left to take the lead was AWESOME. Not today Bradley!

Cavs have seemed to turn it around and are winners of 5 of their last 6 with solid wins against OKC and WASH of late.....they still have 2 games on this road trip though- going into OKC....

LeBron strongly denying the New York Daily News report from Isola- calling it "trash" was right on the money.

What would a "league" source know?---- who does Isola know? it just makes ZERO sense. I am glad that LeBron so forcefully rejected it in the media.

Love isnt going ANYWHERE. The Cavs are finally getting an All Star level performance out of him. He creates matchup nightmares for teams like the Wizards and plenty of other teams. Why would the Cavs blow up their continuity and trade a guy who is cheaper, younger, signed longer AND BETTER? lol.

I'm sure the Wizards didn't know that Cavs were the Eastern Conference heavyweights :L

They won 5 of 6 because they were going through an easy part of the schedule before the game last night. The other 4 wins came against the Knicks, Wolves, Nets, and OKC. Usually I would consider OKC a good win but considering they're now without one of their only 2 good offensive players after Westbrook, beating OKC at home should be expected. Their schedule isn't really challenging the rest of this month excluding the game tomorrow vs Indiana. I expect them to rack up a lot of wins this month. The schedule is much more challenging in March.

they always have trouble going into Indiana- and OKC on the road is not going to be easy. It looks like Shumpert will probably miss both of those games as well.

how many guys in the league can make that pass that Love made to LeBron?--- i KNOW Love is the best at those type of passes in the league. His middle name is WESLEY after Wes Unseld who made those type of passes an artform and Love is definitely the 2.0 version.

Kyrie and Wall both didnt really shoot that well- but at least Kyrie came up big in overtime. So much for Wall "having Kyrie for dinner" ;)

22 and 12 isn't exactly a bad night. He did shoot poorly but not as bad as Kyrie but Kyrie did come up big in OT. I'll give him that

Interesting how it turned around. If Lebron misses the last second shot, Kyrie would have finished 5-18 ... really poor shooting night. He ended 8-24 shooting ... and Cavs still shot 53% as a team.

6 turnovers isnt exactly ideal....

and against the Wizards going to the forecourt is the way to go anyway. Exploit the mismatches.

Love and Thompson combined to go 21/30 for 61 points and 24 rebounds. Love has a very favorable matchup against Morris, and Thompson is too quick for Gortat to chase him around. LeBron took advantage of those favorable matchups all night- hence his career high in assists.

Kyrie had the most points in OT out of any Eastern Conference player this year. It was good he had something left in the tank- and that 3 in Beale's face was the kill-shot.

LeBron gags on the wide open layup that would have given them the lead- and of course hits the crazy 3 pointer.....why cant he just do it the easy way?

Let's not act like the Wizards front court didn't perform well against the Cavs front court as well. Morris & Gortat were solid.

they were solid.....Gortat and Morris combined to go 12 of 25 (48%) for 31 points and 14 boards.....their counterparts (Love and Tristan) went for 61 pts, 24 boards and 21-30 from the field (70% SHOOTING!) is the reason why the Cavs won. Those guys badly outplayed their counterparts.

They sure did but this was a rare night for those 2 (especially Tristan). Those guys rarely will go for 61 points. It was a great night for them but 61 points between the 2 is not something you should expect to see so I doubt Washington is really concerned about that. In their first meeting, those 2 went for 16 and 23.

True, but also true that Love and Tristan had monster games, and it still came down to James hitting several 3's in the 4th that the Wizards will live will every day, let alone the crazy shot that tied it up.

I would say that both teams left the court where they could take positives from the results.

Hopefully we see a playoff series between these 2 teams.
As of now, nothing else in the East compels me at all.

LOL did you guys hear Ty Lue after the game?

"We're going to trade Kevin Love tonight. 39 & 12, yeah we're going to trade him"

Isola took a few to the chin last night for that garbage stunt.

very true---i mean- lebron ahd a career high in assists, Love had one of his best games as a Cav, and Kyrie had the most points in OT out of any eastern conference player this year.

Wizards looked tough.....

its a bummer shumpert got hurt---- hes prob gonna miss the next couple games apparently....its a good thing Korver is finally starting to get acclimated.

If the Wiz and Cavs do meet in the playoffs... Love's performance in the series will be critical. Its a good matchup for him.

i partially agree---- i think - of course- both those guys had games well above their averages- which you can chalk up to a good night of course and i am sure that was a part of it---- but i think an equally, if not bigger part is the fact that Love matches up well against Morris and Thompson matches up well against Gortat.

you were def. right.

The Cavs dont have the advantage in the back court against the Wizards with the pairing of Wall and Beale- but they have a hefty advantage in the front court.

Even Thompson went off for 22 and 12....

Love goes for 39 and 12......those are some favorable matchups those 2 have against Morris and Gortat. Thompson is too quick for Gortat.

Beale was nasty. When he is shooting well and healthy he can carry an offense. Otto Porter shot the lights out too- which- i mean- he is shooting over 45% from 3 on the season so you cant say its out of the blue.

If they traded for a Paul Milsap or a Vucevic or some kind of front court help they would be scarier.

It is almost a given that the Warriors will win the title this season. With that in mind teams should not go too crazy with moves if it might risk mortgaging their future to a degree. The Wizards are fine where they are & Wall stated it rt when he said their goal is to reach the Eastern Conf. Finals. Even getting close to that goal would be a sign of progress & allow them to consider offseason moves that could advance them further.

Let's be real. Moving forward any team is going to have to get lucky & also make some sort of big offseason FA move. Who knows where that will happen. Draft picks are crap shoots in the one & done era with rare exceptions. I was really down on the Wizards after last season & when it was obvious that Durant wanted no part of this team. However - they have more than made up for the previous bad play & at least are heading in the rt direction. May never be enough but at least there is hope.
