Money wise, Taj and McBuckets for Williams and......Young?

Or maybe do a malcontent for past malcontent trade and substitute Mirotic in place of McBuckets?

Wouldn't hurt you since Mirotic is a free agent this Summer.

I wouldn't mind seeing them get either one. Both can shoot and in the Lakers offense, would likely get some open looks.

McBuckets would probably be a better fit if Mirotic feels entitled to minutes.

As long as the Lakers get Taj...I'll take either one.

why does everyone think bogut is gonna get released?

and holy shit - would that be the freaking perfect guy for the Cavs to get...

Mostly because the Mavs probably won't be close to the playoffs and a buy-out would save them some money. The only reason he might not be released is if the Mavs feel he can be their center for another year or two and want to extend him or keep him past this year.

Bogut would be a great fit almost anywhere. I think the two biggest destinations for him would be the Cavs and the Spurs for obvious reasons. He can't go back to the Warriors because rules prevent him from rejoining the team. Honestly I think the Spurs would be probably the best fit for him. They play a similar brand of basketball as the Warriors do and would be a great fit as their defensive anchor which they are really missing this year. He'd be able to play next to either Gasol or Aldridge and his passing and screen setting would be ideal for him. He'd have a much more important role with the Spurs than he would with the Cavs, imo.

That's what I thought.

I got it Cavs, Spurs, Rox.

But, he'd be nice in NOLA, PDX and Minny.

However, they might not be playoff teams, let alone Contenders.

.....what about backing up Gobert?

Jazz play one of the slowest offenses in the NBA. They're very methodical and at least offensively, wouldn't utilize Bogut nearly as well as the Spurs or Rockets, or a myriad of other teams. He'd basically just be a defensive specialist as a backup for them, imo.

If I'm Bogut, not only do I want to play for a contender, but I also want to boost my own stock for what will probably be his last shot at a decent sized contract. Spurs and Rockets would allow that. Cavs too.

hell..id agree with that- Mozgov's biggest contribution comes on nights where he can guard traditional plodding centers....he freaking played 30 minutes last night when hes averaging 21.2 minutes a game on the season. Mozgov is a very nice weapon against traditional slow centers like that.

LOL Whiteside is a slow "plodding" center.
He's actually very agile, but he is over 7 feet tall.
You expecting to see Carl Lewis running up and down the court?

If he was on the Cavs you'd be creaming your jeans over having him.

LeBron's Block in The Finals Is the Play of 2016

Top 10 plays of 2016

1. The Block.

All due respect to Kyrie Irving's 3-pointer, The Play of The Finals was offered by King James. LeBron James' chasedown block of Andre Iguodala with 1:51 remaining in Game 7 of the NBA Finals — a shot that would have given Golden State the lead — wasn't just the defining moment of 2016, but perhaps the defining moment of James' Hall of Fame career as well. He didn't do it alone, as J.R. Smith helped impede Iguodala's path and give James the extra split-second that he needed to get to the rim. But the enormity of the moment made the block even bigger: Golden State had a record-setting 73-win regular season, the series was tied 3-3, the total points in that series were tied at that moment 699-699. After that block, the Warriors wouldn't score again. And James would soon become a three-time NBA champion .

I said the defining moment of LeBron's career was yet to come last March- and it definitely came to fruition. Its the play that will get the hammer in any LeBron career montage. The athleticism and size and hand eye coordination that took was amazing- i dont think any other player in NBA history could have made that play and had the combination of size, speed and athleticism that LeBron displayed.

hes not a good fit on the Cavs--- the Cavs are trying to win- not amass as many stats as possible.

I take Tristan Thompson- 10 times out of 10 - without Thompson the Cavs defense would fall apart vs. the Warriors- he never complains, always plays, always plays his ass off and is a sure thing- everything Whiteside is not.

Really?
Whiteside hasnt played his ass off all season?
Whiteside has complained?
You still waiting for the meltdown?

Hes actually turned into a respected voice and leader.
After the Magic loss, he best put it into perspective and knew to
the minute how often the group that finished the game had played together.

His talent level is >>>>Tristan.

No brainer who teams would rather have.

A no brainer huh? I disagree w/ you. Thompson is a perfect fit for what the Cavs wanna do on offense. I'm not sure Whiteside would fit in well w/ the Cavs offense, his touches per game would be way down from what he currently has in Miami.

True. On the other hand, part of the reason Thompson plays the role he does in their offense is because his offensive game is very limited. If he had a better offensive game, the Cavs would figure out how to incorporate that into what they do. I'd expect that they would do the same with Whiteside who has better offensive skills than Tristan.

Imagine the looks JR, Kyrie and Lebron would get with teams having to account for Whiteside on offense.

You made a good point about the better looks Cavs shooters would get w/ an offensive weapon in the post. But that would probably mean the Cavs would be running a different offense where the 5 spot gets more touches per game. I just don't see LeBron or Kyrie wanting to play in an offensive system like that.
