The Reds are talking to the Beast, which I am quite fine with. However, I was thinking, if we could get Aoki on a 2/16 deal, would that be worth pursuing?

I say yes. Very little power, but a good OBP guy and a pretty good defender. Relegates Shark to the bench and Carbonell to reserve status as well.

If what we saw in the Series is a decent representation of who he is, I say no thanks. He looked completely lost in the field, and his offense was nothing to get excited about.

SSS, I know...

I still think if we are looking for a new LF, considering the market. Alex Rios is the best fit out of our options. (Who I know was brought up earlier, just mentioning him as guy I'd take over Aoki)

I hope Morse winds up with the Reds. Granted him in LF should scare them but he would give them more pop. Since he likely won't be back here, want it to be CIN

I wouldn't sign him to a 2/16 deal - I think that's too much. I wouldn't mind getting him for 1/4M, with a $5M '16 option (w/ $1M buy-out). He earned $1M his first year, and (approx) $2M in both '13 and '14. If he wants more than what I propose, pass.

He should be able to bat 1st, 2nd, 7th or 8th. He would've (not of  ) had the 2nd highest OBP on the Giants last year (out of players w/ at least 100 PAs), and a VERY close 3rd (just after Belt) in 2013. He has always had a decent average, and (although declining) his stats would have placed him 1st or 2nd in stolen bases the past three years, had he played for the Giants. He can play every OF position (although his D took a huge dive in '14).

Thing is, if he's signed, he would be the only OF signed - so no pop added in the OF. I think Perez would be the cheap 4th OF and Blanco would be gone.

Rios will think he's worth more than he is actually work - Alex Rios isn't just Alex Rios anymore. Rios has been a bad defender for the last few years, his power has *greatly* declined, and has pretty much always called the smaller parks 'home'. With all of the large stadiums in the NL West, his HR numbers would suffer. If he'd take a 'Morse' contract, I'd consider him. But I have no warm feelings.

I'd sign Ishi before I'd sign aoki or Rios. I'd only sign Morse to play first base, moving Belt to left. But I'd still rather sign Ishi. Then use the money to sign a pitcher, like Vogey.

Or better yet - SIGN MELKY!!!

Forgiveness is something we all need.

I'd start Perez for a full season before I ever put Ishikawa in LF again.

Will have to apologize to some of the guys in the clubhouse for not talking to them directly after the suspension and Bochy for telling Toronto media it was Bochy who "wanted to give Cabrera his WS ring in private"

We aren't talking about Tomas anymore :(

The Giants are still supposedly one of the front-runners.

But I am OK with moving on from him. His defense is supposedly very questionable, and he will cost the same as a SUPERSTAR right of the gate.

I just don't see the equity benefit. Kinda like buying a lottery ticket for 10M.

I found it very interesting that one of his suitors (Dbacks?) Worked him out at 3B.

I saw that. Don't know what to make of it, though.

I know what to make of it if he can play third and we don't sign Panda.

A contract with Tomas's name on the bottom.

I just don't want to do a 6/100 with a complete wildcard.

Would he be that much more of a wildcard than Sandoval?

Future headline watch:

Pablo Sandoval celebrates the signing of his new contract.
For the third time today.

Have I not been clear on my opinion on Panda?

I would not go longer than 4, almost regardless of money.

Put a gun to my head, and I HAVE to give either Panda or Tomas a 6/100, I would probably go Tomas. He is younger and "hungrier" (baseball wise, not stomach wise).
