Here we go. Time to find out who the men are and the refs finally let the game get more physical.
I think that figures to be an unusually interesting first-round series. I think DeAndre Jordan might end up shooting a lot of FTs.
Yeah, Pop ran Asik off the court last night by employing hack-A-sik. I bet we see that at some point with DeAndre
I remember watching that game. Clippers should have won in by 15 but Jordans FTs really kept the Spurs in.Back in February the Clips beat SAS by four points in LA in a game where Jordan shot 28 FTs.
I think Dallas is winning the west this year. One of the few fundamentally sound teams in the league with their addition of Rondo. Rondo's not a fancy point guard who does meaningless fancy dribbling, shoots no look 3 pointers, or gets triple doubles and loses games, but his only intention is to get his teammates involved and make great plays like a true point guard should.
Not too many real point guards left. Guards like Curry, Rose, Westbrook, and Lillard are shooting guards who happen to play the point with no rings to show for it.

Ugh...and I was so excited for this series, too. Its going to be a slog of 2 great teams playing
I agree with you except for one thing:Make your darn free throws.
Nobody is asking guys to shoot 70%......if a guy can hit 60% (which is embarassingly bad itself), it wont happen.
And it wont only be the Spurs:
I fully expect Dallas to hack a J-Smoov AND hack-a-Dwight. It would be stupid not to do so,
Why would you let Harden gets shots. Take the ball out of his hands and let TWO SUB 50% guys lose it.
New Orleans will hack-a-bogut to get the ball out of Curry's hands. And it frees up the only defender who can remotely slow down Davis in the post.
MAKE EM. Don't whine for a rule change because pampered millionaires cant be bothered to improve it.
I agree with you except for one thing:
Its BORING
You're taking the least entertaining part of basketball and making it the core product. At the end of the day, the NBA is entertainment.
Does anybody disagree with the way they seed the teams? POR (51-31) has the 6th best record, but since they won the division they are guaranteed a top-4 seed. They play 5-seed MEM (55-27) and the Grizzlies have home court. They deserve that because they have the better record so why go through all that BS seeding the way they do if they are just going to give the better record the HCA? This is how it should look (the East fell perfectly).
(1)GS (67-15) vs (8)NO (45-37)
(4)MEM (55-27) vs (5)SA (55-27)
(2)HOU (56-26) vs (7)DAL (50-32)
(3)LAC (56-26) vs (6)POR (51-31)
What the hell is wrong with that?
Guys running up to the ref saying 'look Im fouling this guy' is not part of basketballBesides entertainment, though, it is also basketball. The ability to make FTs is part of that sport.
