We were out of pitchers lol. Pelfrey going short again and Graham/duensing can't be counted on for anything.

I hate that we pinch run(lost Plouffe) but don't pinch hit(Robinson? Really?). But it worked.

Yeah, that caught me off guard too. Bullpen got a little overworked I guess. He only lasted five innings in his start on Friday so must have been feeling good to go. And now he gets a save! lol

Yep, and slated for Thursday still. Maybe Molitor is onto something?!? Use the guy in a game instead of 30-40 pitches in the BP.

Molitor was thrown out of the game lol.

And again, it wasn't a strategy. It was a last resort. We had no other relievers available.

Couldn't do Gibson, Santana or Pelfrey. So it was Duffey(who probably had his Bp already) or Milone. It was the only call.

Yeah. The umping was terrible. Can't blame Molitor for that. He had to stick up for his rook.


which brings me to this... loved the gamesmanship that Sano was employing at 1st yesterday. Couple times he just kept the ball on the guys' shoulders on throws from the pitcher, waiting for ump to call time. Loved that.

Bats saved the day today. Lots of clutch hits. Sadly, that broken bat didn't completely get torii going as he K'd looking twice on meatballs.

Need Duffey big time tomorrow to go toe to toe with Archer. Used a lot of the pen again tonight

I'll be curious to see who they call up. Vargas and Arcia?

I wouldn't expect Berrios. He's already equaled his high in innings pitched. They'll probably limit him to another 30-50 (high end). Can't expect them to experiment with him in the bullpen. He's the future. Can't afford another Liriano situation.

Honestly what I'm more curious about is what we do when Hicks comes back?

Torii isn't hitting worth a shit. I'd love to get a taste of the future outfield on a few occaisions with Rosario, Buxton and Hicks out there.

I doubt we do it though. But torii seemingly "rests" about once a series anyways.

I'd have to think that you will see those three playing regularly - provided Hicks isn't hampered, with Torii playing every 3rd day, and available to pinch hit.

Yeah I hope so. Can still work torii in. Maybe sit Eddie vs tough lefties. Hicks also isn't great as a lefty so torii can play vs some righties too.

But damn that outfield D with Hicks in for torii is scary good.
