Presently, it's a football play, but it's definitely an "on-the-edge-dirty" football play, but one you see a lot of DBs make every weekend. Every time I see a DB tackle a receiver by diving helmet first at the knees, I think that it could be a season-ender for the receiver.

the thing about this situation is Jackson was completely run over by Manny a couple possessions earlier and had his bell rung ... so you know he was out there to hurt someone after

One thing's for sure, Friday night's game between the Lions and Riders will be intense. No way the Riders want to be 0-4 at the end of the night.

I was going to ask Wally for a spare Canadian offensive lineman (preferably a tackle) as the Stamps lost both offensive tackles in last night's game.

/I think Edwin Harrison might be gone for the season.

Speaking of cheap shots, Laing of the Argos needs to sit for a game, he nailed a Stampeder lineman (can't remember who) at the end of a play last night and he's the same guy who put Esks QB Mike Reilly out of commission by diving at his knees.

Edit: It was Stamps centre Pierre Lavertu that was the recipient of the Laing cheap-shot.

Costly win last night:

Edwin Harrison out for the year....broken ankle.
Simon Charbonneau-Campeau out for the year (undisclosed)
Dan Federkeil......out a few weeks (leg issue)

By the way, TSN2 showed a replay of the Riders - Lions game last night and I watched the Jackson hit on Morrah. Technically, it's within the current rules, but it's a dirty hit and you could see from the reactions of the Lions players that it was dirty. There was not need for Jackson to go that low and especially aim right for the knees, he could have just as easily tried to wrap him up with a proper form tackle.

/Also, as flag happy as the refs have been, they missed a horse collar tackle on Shawn Gore just prior to Manny catching the game winning TD.

the above was in response to this

“They set the tone like that, so I just finished it.” - Tristan Jackson on his hit on Cam Morrah last week.

Can you imagine if a hockey player said what Jackson said after a questionable hit ?

That's the thing, I wouldn't worry about getting even with Jackson, but if Kevin Glenn tosses up a hospital pass for Weston Dressler, well you know what they say about payback...

BC wins 27-24 and Jackson left the game with a leg injury after a horse collar tackle by the BC punter...

Also, it's kinds funny that the league's best and most passionate fans are dressing up these days as empty seats at Taylor Field in Regina.

it was pointed out to me that one lineman is wearing #69 ... the other should probably be wearing #0.08

By the way, if anybody reading this has any football experience playing on the O-line (preferably offensive tackle), please contact John Hufnagel at McMahon Stadium in Calgary.

"I'm a young coach, and I told my wife we have to get out of this league. The Canadian game is great, but the officiating is pure crap. I can't have my coaching career – my livelihood – in jeopardy based on what these refs call or don't call. There's no consistency. No common sense. High school refs are way better in the U.S. than what we get up here at the pro level..."

Stamps sign Oline man John Estes.
@RogMillions: RT @SUNMitchell: Stamps have signed OL John Estes, who went to training camp with the BC Lions. He can play centre. That's the key. #CFL

Need some healthy bodies, that's for damn sure.
