He's doing a poor job of that, how are guys supposed to get experience when they get benched over every mistake they make. Players haven't learned from the bench in the NBA in quite some time, Kobe got benched 20 years ago.

So you expect guys like Randle and Russell to play 40 minutes a game for 82 games and risk injuring them? How is that going to help them gain experience?

You build them out throughout the season.

Yeah you can. Nobody expected them to be this mad. I had them at about 30 wins. They won't sniff that

How? Kobe is a non-factor and the rookies (including Clarkson and Randle) have next to no NBA experience.

Put a shit coach on a team with great players, you get wins.
Put a good coach on a team with shit players, you get losses.

Last two years Swaggy P has been one of our best players for christ sake! You expect to see the playoffs with that?

30-35 minutes per game is not going to kill them. What is there to lose?

No one said playoffs, better than 9-40 maybe.

Injuries maybe? As it stands Russell and Randle are both averaging 27 minutes. Scott has already said Russell will be going back in to the starting line up. No doubt they'll be over 30mpg in the second half of the season.

And before the season started there were two good options for the Lakers: Playoffs or lottery. Anything else would be a disappointment. The way I see it we're right on track!

#2 pick of the draft, Roy Hibbert, Brandon Bass, Julius Randle and Lou Williams were all added to the team and yet the team is still just as bad as they were last year. How long until you can no longer use the roster as an excuse?

Two NBA finals in his first 3 years? Coach of the year 2008? Developed Chris Paul and Kyrie Irving?

Even Phil couldn't do much better with this team! Hell, he'd probably give the rookies even less playing time!

How much longer can you keep blaming a coach who's up against a fiercely competitive Western Conference when you claim key players are Hibbert and Bass?!?

This roster is a low to mid 30 win team with a good coach

Phil never got good picks because he always went to the playoffs. Phil would not even take the job.

Hibbert and Bass are better than what we had last year, which was the point. Bass is a good player, he'd be a solid addition to any team.

I'm surprised anyone plays more than 30 minutes in the NBA, they could get injured after all.

Yep Bass is a solid role player. Hibbert is not great but better than whoever was the Center from last season

So you would be happy with lets say, 35-40 wins? No playoffs, no lottery pick?

No, I thought the team was capable of 40 wins, best case. I'm glad I was wrong.

And why did you think that? Is it because you noticed an improved roster and also Kobe returning from injury?

Why did Kobe only play 15 mpg in his first year? And 26 mpg in his second?

Because the Lakers were winning without him and Phil is notorious for not trusting rookies. This was also 20 years ago.

So you would be happy with lets say, 35-40 wins? No playoffs, no lottery pick?

Better than yet another bottom feeding season, would also have shown that Scott isn't completely inept. I'd be happy with the state we are in now if Russell and Randle were not getting benched for every little mistake in a lost season and good players like Bass were never benched for players like Robert Sacre at any point.

I mean, Scott was giving Huertas minutes over Young for a while, Nick Young may be dumb but he's a helluva lot better than Huertas.
