Moving Tristan Thompson to the starting lineup and having a starting front court of Love and Thompson has the Cavs playing GREAT defense- and has 2 of the top 10 rebounders talent-wise in the NBA out there together which is good stuff. Good move by Blatt- especially considering Mozgov has been struggling. I am very interested in seeing Thompson in the starting lineup against some of these really good Western teams.

hey-- if i am not mistaken- i have taken more bets than anyone lately on here- ESPECIALLY you that I have yet to see take a bet- so until you put your money where you mouth is- its a little hypocritical to be criticizing me who has given or taken more bets than ANYONE on this forum lately- PLUS- especially at this point- there is no EFFEN way I let skidmarks goad me into a bet i dont want to make (at this time).

You need to learn the definition of hypocritical. Like I said. Never seen anyone be such a bitch over an avy bet. You talk more shit than anyone on here. You've been posting 15,000 novellas about how great the Cavs are and what they're going to do. But then, you want to bitch out of a bet because someone might get hurt (this after insisting over and over that no one on the Cavs is injury prone).

You also offered a bet that will take over a month to complete, any Heat player could get hurt during that time. That, is hypocritical. Difference is, turnup has the confidence to actually accept the bet.

Since you don't have the confidence in your team to accept the bet. Quit giving us daily updates on how great the Cavs are and what all they are going to accomplish.

It had to be done.

They are paying Tristan to much cheese to have him in a reserve role.

Mozgov won't be there next Season, especially since he gets weepy about his playing time.

I get that this is a contract year for him. But, the Cavs are better with Tristan.

Guys love to say winning is the only thing that matters. But, few actually mean it.

Again, nuance is lost on you. This is the exact thing i was talking about with my post on logic.

If i waited for a bet on the Finals- at least I know- WHEN THE BET IS BEGINNING- I have the Cavs roster healthy.

If the Heat right now were missing Bosh and Wade and Whiteside was suspended- I HEAVILY doubt someone would accept that bet I proposed- why would they?

I am not making a bet that would not even START for 6 months from now- its IMPOSSIBLE to look that far ahead and determine who would be healthy/what the circumstances are.

Right now? for a bet that commences starting tomorrow? Cmon man. You have to use your brain and do a little analysis and use some logic. NUANCE man. Cmon now.

i just think its hilarious that SOOOOO many people this summer said it was dumb to sign Thompson- that Love and Thompson were redundant, BLAH BLAH BLAH

and the FACTS and STATISTICS show that they play EXTREMELY well together- ESPECIALLY defensively- where the Cavs have the 4th rated defense in the league when those 2 share the court...lol.....its just soo funny...all this crap- the Cavs dont have a good enough defense with Love?!! remember that? Well?- EASILY a top 10 defense - and right now I believe they are top 3 in defensive efficiency.....Thompson and Love cant play together? HAHA....sooooo funny...its just great how time had vindicated me in so many of these debates.

Love has been playing really shifty as of late.

Is he injured?

I was one of the folks that said it was a dumb signing.

But, I qualified that statement by saying ....unless he is starting.

Nobody ever said it was dumb to sign Thompson. All anyone said is that he's not worth that money and I still don't believe he's worth that money. I don't recall anyone saying they should let him walk or trade him. All we said is that he's not worth that money (which is still hold true) and that paying 80+ mill for a bench player is stupid. Obviously they cleared up this 2nd issue by making him a starter.

Would I give Tristan 82 mill? Hell no

Nuance? Another word you don't know the meaning of. You're just being hypocritical. You offer a bet that will take over a month to complete. A lot can happen in that month. Bosh could turn an ankle, Wade could blow out his knee. Yet, turnup had the confidence in his team to take the bet anyway.

When the Heat put together their big 3, Heat fans expressed the same confidence in their team that you claim to have in your Cavs. They backed it up and accepted avy bets before the season even started and they did it all 4 years that Lebron was in Miami.

Yet, you can't accept an avy bet with the season nearly half over because someone might get hurt. This, despite you constantly telling us all about how Kyrie and Love aren't injury prone.

It's pretty simple. Back what you say, or stfu.

well he had 15, 15 and 7 last night.

His points have been down a little lately- but over the last 7 game win streak- Kyrie has been back- and on top of that JR Smith ahs been going crazy lately.

Have u seen Jr Smiths stats lately? Hes been GREAT. There will be times during the year when Love is not the "focal" point- especially when a role player like Smith or whoever REALLY REALLY is red hot for a time period.

I want to see what the Cavs record is since LeBron came back from his 2 week hiatus last year when LBJ/Kyrie/Love share the court. I think its something like 42-5 or something like that. When those 3 play and are all healthy- the Cavs are without a doubt only vulnerable to the very best of teams in the league.

Yeah, looks like after a decade, JR finally gets it.

He has been terrific.

Alas, it's a contract year.

How much will it cost the Cavs to keep him?

Clearly, he and his agent are not the sharpest knives in the drawer based on the way they shot their wad and crapped out this summer.

So, maybe they get him on a multiyear mid level contract?

If the Cavs do make the Finals, JR might just be the biggest x factor of the series. If the Cavs were to get the JR that we've seen over the last few weeks in the Finals... I would feel extremely confident about the Cavs chances. If they get the JR from last years Finals on the other hand... the task of beating the Spurs or Dubs 4 times feels a lot more monumental.

82/5 = 16 million a year about.

In today's NBA- given the rising cap- and Thompsons skill set- that is not bad AT ALL. DeMarre Carroll just got 15 a year. Valuncuinas 16 a year, Kanter 18 a year, etc. etc. etc.

Thompson has a GREAT work ethic
Thompson is NEVER hurt and always plays
Thomspon NEVER complains and is a GREAT teammate
Thompson is one of the best rebounders in the NBA
Thompson might be the BEST offensive rebounder in the league
Thompson has become very good at rolling to the basket and finishing
Thompson is one of the VERY best bigs in the league at switching the pick and roll- which is EXTREMELY important in todays NBA
Thompson proved that he can perform when the pressure is on in the playoffs

WELL worth 16 a year- ESPECIALLY when compared to others

All of those guys you mentioned are overpaid as well but difference is all were locked into the starting lineup in the summer. Tristan was looking like a 7th man when he signed that deal.

Typical Wiggy. Trying to make shit up in a failed attempt to make himself look good. Everyone said basically the same thing.

That was that there are plenty of players who can provide what TT provides for a lot less money. We all also said that TT had the Cavs by the short hairs because they couldn't let him walk. They lacked the cap space to get one of those guys. The Cavs really had no choice but to pay him.

However, considering that word was that he wanted a max deal and the Cavs ended up getting for a little less than a max deal, they actually did as well as they could have.

However, just because the Cavs had to give him that money, doesn't mean he's worth that money. We all also said that if the Cavs win a title and TT plays well, no one is going to be talking about how overpaid he is.

when you say "overpay" what you really mean is- those guys got market value contracts in free agency. The nature of free agency is that the guy can sign ANYWHERE- so you usually have to overpay. This has been the truth forever. The same stuff happened 2 summers ago, last summer, will happen next summer- except- as time goes on- that 16 million a year will keep on looking more and more palatable as the cap keeps rising and rising.

Agreed.

That's how I remember the debate going as well.

Paying $200 mil for 2 guys playing the same position is full on tard.

But, we knew they had to so the King could have his.court.

who has signed lately in the free agent market that can do what Tristan can? Cmon...BACK IT UP (lol)....

its seriously like you dont even read the posts. All the comps (comparative players) that have gone to free agency lately have gotten similar- if not bigger contracts. This is just plain fact.
