not sure if Horford would be a fit...
I agree. Whiteside would be a far better fit for the Lakers. We could have Whiteside starting with Hibbert coming in off the bench.

just saying from you:
Starting 5 will play at a fast pace.
That's what they are preaching, and that's what Dragic was wanting and told would happen.
Bosh can run, especially if he doesn't need to pretend he's going to rebound.
Wade is still great in the open court.
you guys are nuts
Al Horford is the best player on a team that won 60+ games last year. Hes probably one of the top 20 players in the game, and hes a great leader with a great work ethic- a guy you can start to build a team around.
I like Whiteside a lot- but if your the Lakers you want a franchise player and Whiteside is NOT a guy I would hand my franchise too- Horford is without a doubt one of those guys I wouldnt give a second thought to paying.

I don't know if I'd consider Horford a "franchise player". He's great, but I think he'd be a lot better as the #2 or maybe even #3 on a team instead of the go to guy. I wouldn't consider Whiteside a franchise player either, but he can anchor down a defense, which is pretty important, and give you offense as well. If he gets past the maturity issues he's had in the past and limits the fouls he can be even better than he has been in his short time with the Heat. He's also 3 years younger than Horford. The only thing about signing Whiteside is you'd have to have some vets/leaders in place to keep him in check.you guys are nuts

It's a long season and anything can happen.
His FG%(.345), 3pt%(.286), and FT%(.857) are all worse than his numbers from last season where he looked "overmatched" in the Kings trainwreck and the main reason he's nearly tripled his point total from a year ago is because he plays 2x as many minutes and shoots 3x as many shots(including 4x as many 3's) as he did with the Kings. I think he turns into a quality NBA player, but I don't think he'll be more than a shooter off the bench. I like him and hope he has a good career, but it's easy to improve your numbers on a team that is lacking in talent and not focused on winning.Though it may be easy to pad numbers in Philly, Nik Stauskas is proving to be a quality NBA role player after looking overmatched as a rookie (or maybe it was that trainwreck in Sacramento). I'd take him over Kobe Bryant at this point, because he don't need 20 shots a game to produce.
