Since the beginning of last season, only Hassan Whiteside and Anthony Davis have multiple games of 20 points, 10 rebounds and 5 blocks. Whiteside got his second tonight against the Raptors. Davis has had 10 such games in that span.
Im impressed that Winslow is playing 27 minutes a night so early and is holding his own for the most part. Besides the 19 minutes against the Cavs really- hes playing 30+ minutes a night. For a rookie right out the gate on a team with so many vets like the Heat that is impressive.

And tonight looks like it was Whitesides best game of the season. Heat only shot 42% but when you hold the opponent to 39% and the All star back court duo of Lowry and DeRozan to 9/30 you had a pretty good night on defense.

I do have to say- Goran Dragic isnt exactly knocking my socks off yet for the Heat though...he hasnt been playing so great this year.

No he's playing poorly but I think he will improve

Pistons win again, didn't expect them to be 5-1 even though I did pick them as my East surprise team. Drummond with 29 and 27 for his 3rd 20/20 game of the year.

Tomorrow in GSW should be interesting. Drummond is a beast

Warriors won't go cold 2 games in a row, very little chance the Pistons win that especially on a B2B. But I could see them keeping it close in the 1st half. Drummond got to take control of the rebounding and offense down low when Monroe left and is dominating.

I agree he'll figure it out.
He's still trying to not step on Wades toes.

Also, the ace in the rough is Tyler Johnson.
100% effort every minute on the court, and very athletic.
Did you guys catch the high flying dunk where he chest bumped Winslow on the way down?

Yep but I liked the McRoberts one handed finish on the following play better. I love our bench though. You actually have to watch the games to realize the impact they have on the game. A lot of good things they're doing does not show up in the final box score

I've noticed a few times where McBob makes a nice pass that others aren't expecting when the shot clocks is running down.
A pass most players his size/position can't pull off.

As of now, it makes the possession end in a TO or a bad shot.
I think as they gel, it will turn into more easy baskets or at least wide open looks.

The McBob slam was also awesome, but it was pretty much a wide open lane to the rim.
Tyler jumped over a crowd of people.

Drummond...best center in the game? He's loudly making his voice heard in the discussion

Heck yeah!! SVG's vision of this team is really coming together. I wish they could have gotten something for Monroe, but the way Drummond is playing.... eh who cares?

Drummond is now averaging 20 & 20

Apparently Drummond 's performance through the first 6 has put him the the same category as Chamberlain and Jabbar. He's only 22, hopefully he can have a long and healthy career.

Thunder were up 20 at the half, hopefully it's just being cautious.

The Jackson contract is of course an "overpay"- what was it 5 years 70? 14 million? With the cap going up- thats not THAT bad though- with how the K is structured its probably like 12 this year and like 16 in the last year which makes it even more palatable. And seriously- if you as a team like a player and think he has room for imprvoement and he means a lot to your team- KEEP HIM...especially in markets like Clveland and Detroit where free agents dont exactly flock to in droves.

My question to you is- what is up with Brandon Jennings? What would your plan be for him if you were the Pistons GM?

And lastly- Andre Drummond is a BEAST....if the Pistons are a solid team this year the guy is going to be top 8 in the MVP race. HEs just that damn good- 25 and 29 the other night? Hes a GREAT GREAT player. Letting Monroe walk for nothing kinda sucks- I would have dealt him- but opening up those shots and that post position for Drummond and getting a shooter at the 4 like Illysova is CLASSIC SVG....get your DOMINANT center and a stretch 4 to give him space.

And good point with Morris too- the HARDEST position to find a good player in the NBA? SMALL FORWARD- you got a small forward wh ois in the top half of the league at his position probably for NOTHING.....Pistons definitly have a shot to make the playoffs if this keeps up. We as basketball fans should have probabl seen it coming to a certain extent with SVG taking over and having his Dwight 2.0.

:wtf: Reggie Jackson starts and is the second best player on the team.

Comes off the bench on a team that already has 3 other capable big men.

Again :wtf:

Cavs games are difficult to watch as a neutral observer with their commentators.

It is almost as they're cheerleaders

Whiteside is a huge difference maker on defense. Blocked shots. *Altered shots. His length is incredible. The Lakers eventually stopped attacking the rim last night because it was futile with Whiteside in there.

*I think altered shots are better than blocks because it seems to lead to more defensive rebounds. I'm curious if anybody has any advanced stats on defensive rebound percentages on block shots versus altered shots. It might be a bit too subjective concluding an altered shot or not though
