AZ Cardinals FA WR Andre Roberts

Roberts isn't a long speed WR, however, when Steve Breaston was injured he got into the mix and proved worthy as a possession receiver. Roberts started out as the #2 when Notre Dame WR Floyd was drafted.
He is not a #2 but could be serviceable in the slot.. 4 years in the league not to mention the crappy QB play for AZ in 2011 and early 2012....Thoughts ?

Whelp, there goes our Super Bowl hopes. Might as well pack it up and move to LA now...

Damn, living on the west coast, I would be so damn happy.

If the Titans do cut Nate Washington, I'd put him at the top of the list. He'd be a very nice compliment to CJ.

I would still rather build in the draft. FAs are usually just to plug holes temporarily at lower impact positions. Number 2 WR fits that I guess but I want a guy with upside sooner.

They need more than a number two receiver though, they could use a number three as well. Mayhew does extremely poorly at evaluating wide receiver talent in the draft. I would rather see them sign a proven wr then waste another high pick.

I heard the Panthers might let Steve Smith walk. Hope he walks straight to Detroit!

Moved all the WR chatter into Lionstop's WR info thread for quick access and to help clean things up a little.

FYI

Fellas -

I merged all the FA chatter, but kept a separate thread open for strictly WR talk since its such a polarizing position right now on our boards.

Keep it going.

Is this a request?

Hell yes. Can you imagine Steve Smith next to Calvin? I love players with chips on their shoulders. Maybe some of that grit would rub off on Calvin too.

Put Smith at the top of my FA WR wish list.

You a mod now?

No just doing some basic clean up. When threads get old I'll merge them, try to put stuff neatly into time capsules. Trying to sticky the hottest topics and keep them in one place for everyone to find easily and contribute to.

Trial and error stuff.

I love Smith, but he would have to grow almost a foot for Stafford to find him. Staff is overthrowing guys who are 6'5"+ already. If Staff does not get more accuracy, it wont matter who we add.

He is still productive and 34 years old. And he is the kind of guy who is fueled by those who doubt him. If we sign him He will show Carolina they made a mistake. Pound for pound one of the toughest guys on offense.
