And although nobody will want to hear it, expect Patrick Edwards to get another look with the new staff.

A lot of people thought he was real good, I wonder how many of those had been independent opinions and how many just ran with what Burleson said. I would love for him to produce where everyone thought he would, I just won't hold my breath.

THIS...

Edwards in the slot. The kid was dynamic at U of Houston until he suffered a compound fracture tracking down a ball through the end-zone barreling into a cart/wagon...He did possess the skill-set to become productive.

I'm not holding my breath either. If I was a betting man I'd put money on him never making it. However, given his skill-set and very low cost, combined with our huge need at WR, I'd expect him to be brought back to camp.

The last thing you want to see is us to cut bait only for him to finally put it all together and catch 50 balls for 600-700 yards as a slot receiver somewhere else.

Pretty much the fact that he's no-risk is what will keep him around through training camp, imo...

Andre Ware set NCAA records at Houston. He didn't work out very well for us. As far as Edwards college numbers -- I'm not sure if Houston still run the wide open offense, but if they are -- putting up the numbers he did wouldn't be too difficult.

A WR should be able to catch the ball.

I thought he was more of a number one personally.

Yeah its pretty bad. The lions need to go back to basics and just find receivers who can catch the fucking ball.

Rumors are that Nate Washington may be cut.

Now there'd be the veteran deep threat we could use for a year or two. Make him Fuller's personal mentor, they're very similar WRs...

scratch Cooper off your wish list as he signed a 5 year extension with the Eagles

Free agent Wide Recievers I expect Lions to consider.

Here it is, short and sweet:

With the new offense being said to resemble the Saints, I've gone on record, right here and now, stating that the Lions will sign one of these WRs.

Lavelle Hawkins
Dexter McCluster
Emmanuel Sanders

All these guys make sense, IMO. The Lions need a good slot guy, plus the added depth that wont break the bank. Each of these guys are pretty crafty and play fast. My first choice would be McCluster, as he can do things on special teams and RB.

In the meantime, I really like Sanders if Pitt lets him hit the market.

McCluster has never done anything for me. Doesn't seem overly dynamic for such a small/speed guy.

Hawkins kinda hung around in Washington and never did much it seems.

It is a scattered mess.. I'm guilty as well... FA's should be one thread, draft talk could be all the same thread versus position ?, JMO.. It would be great to alleviate or merge a lot of these...

Pit didn't let Sanders get away to the Pats last year when they made an offer, although I think he was an ERFA. That was probably more to do with same conference than anything else. Now, Eagles WR Riley Cooper gets a 5year 25 million contract. That's scary as hell considering Riley played ST and spot started for 3 years then gets that kind of money. What does that mean the cost for other FA WR's ?

Lol. I knew you would comment about this thread Rob Base. There's a reason why I don't/didn't merge this with the others. What's the big deal about how many times a similar thread shows up anyway? Lol
