2014 Season Opener

The NFL is set to release the 2014 Season Schedule on April 17th.

Who do you want as our season opener?

Note: Seattle is not an option as they won the Super Bowl and get the first game at home.

If you pick the last option, please indicate below which team. This site allows 12 choices as the maximum. I gave each home game a slot and then all division teams on the road. Thanks.

One consideration for opening opponent is you want to start the year with a win but you also want to take advantage if the offseason to prepare, so a gimme is a bit of a waste. Denver will be motivated and may face Seattle first, but it would be good to have the offseason to prepare for them. Oakland, not so much.

The ratings are going to go through the roof if we face you guys opening day, I really cant think of any other team that we would be more excited to play than you guys....the packers would be a distant second

I kind of see you guys getting the opening Sunday Night game in your new stadium. I think they will avoid SF/SEA in week 1.

Just to be fair we should play you guy's at your house the first meeting… Should alternate year to year…. Last year you guy's came to our house first… I would rather not start the season out banging heads in week one with you guy's… Our teams are the most physical in the league right now… TOO EARLY… Let the season marinate a bit…

I hope to play Seattle in Seattle first. They will get their rings and be all happy and maybe spend too much energy on distractions and the 9ers steal one.

Also, players always seem to get injured there. If that happens then they will have all season to heal up.

Too bad the Niners are playing the Raiders on the road... That game would have been an awesome home opener as both Bay Area teams play the first regular season game at the new Levi Stadium... Since that won't be the case, I voted for KC

Thanks for the information, but this poll is for who we want to play, not who we think we'll play. That said, if someone wants to start on the road because they, too, want the field to be perfectly ready, that's a good consideration.

If we don't open against Seattle I don't want to play Seattle or their opponent in week 2. Rather not give the team we are facing an extra 3 days to prepare for the 49ers.
