Bronson Arroyo Pitching Statistics and History - Baseball-Reference.com
Career 0.70 GB/FB rate seems like he's a FB pitcher to me.
Well went back and looked at comparative GB/FB rates for the last two seasons the guys below pitched ... and Arroyo is about where the rest of the staff is with a couple of exceptions.
GB/FB Ratio
Arroyo 0.78
Darvish 0.88
Harrison 1.34('11-12)
Holland 0.74
Lewis 0.69 ('11-12)
Ogando 0.69
Perez 1.27
Tepesch 0.88 ('13 only)
oh and Grimm 1.11
Will be nice to get Harrison back and a full season from Perez.
Between Arroyo, Lewis, Tepesch and Grimm...give me Tepesch.
none of them excite me very much but i'd put more stock in Arroyo than the other 3.
Keep in mind were really only needing a #4-#5.
of the 4 listed Arroyo comes closer to filling the need for a #4. i don't think Lewis has anything left although i could be wrong and Grimm doesn't warrant a spot. If Tepesch has developed another pitch like they are reporting than he would be the logical choice for #5

I only mentioned Grimm bc of the gb/fb chart had Grimm listed.
I think it's Tepesch's job to lose

Grim is a Cub now... so no need to even worry about that.
Grimm pitches for CHC now ... he went over in that trade for that other guy you thought was good ... Garza or something like that. I only posted Grimm's GB/FB rate (1.11) because it was better than everyone else who pitched for TEX not named Perez ... and Garza's was 0.75. But Grimm is gone.
understand about Grimm. like i said, i just don't think Lewis has anything left in the tank so it comes down to if Tepesch has that new pitch. but that still leaves a need at 4 and JD has said that they are looking to sign a starter
I think Tepesch could do a very good job as the #5.
Don't worry about it Scotty. JD thought so too.so i won't like any player or pitcher unless i get y'all's permission. i thought it was a logical move on JD's part when they did the trade.
Yu, Harry, Perez, Ogando are pretty much locks for the rotation. We'd only need a 5th until the Dutch Oven's cookin again.
