I would not be surprised since he has played in Miami, Toronto, NY, and Pittsburgh during his career. But did not read that.

He did say that originally, but yesterday there was a story on Mlbtr about him being willing to play somewhere other than PIT.

Tidbit of info:
Chirinos homered for the third consecutive game as Magallanes defeated Caribes de Anzoategui, 11-2, to win the Venezuela winter-league title. Magallanes closed out the best-of-7 championship series in five games.

Chirinos had four homers in 14 at-bats in the last three games of the series.

Chrinos team advanced to the Carribean WS. So did Beltre's but he hit just 194.

That said, the Cruz news. Would he be willing to be DH the entire time? The OF is jammed as it is.
IMO, a 1yr deal w/Texas for Cruz makes sense for him. It would provide him the best atmosphere to show he can "hit without PED's" and make him one of the better free agent bats on the market next offseason.

What we have heard is that the draft pick being attached to him is causing some teams to balk at his price. So how about if he signs a one year deal without a no-trade clause, and if he is raking in the first half of the year we can trade him. he can decide if he wants to go to a team and sign an extension with them, or go to whomever we trade and know that they can't attach a draft pick pricetag to him. In that case we can trade for a player we already know about rather than a changing draft pick that anyone could be available when it actually goes on the clock.

A vast improvement. Wow. I will always appreciate what he did for the Rangers and hope that when he retires there is a place for him in the organization.

Arroyo stated that he has not even received a hard offer as of yet. With AJ now out on the market it may slow things down even more for him. He may come at a very reasonable price.

Read that AJ Burnett isn't necessarily done this year and open to a different team than the Pirates.

It sounds, without me spending the tiny energy to look it up, like he is a true FA. If so, then could that be our #5?

I think he got done in the NLDS ... or ran out of steam like he hit a wall.

I don't feel like we have to do either, though birth would be nice luxuries. Pitching is more important imo.
