Michael Sam disappoints with 17 rep's on the bench.

For comparison 189 pound Brandin Cooks put up 16.

Brandin Cooks just ran the top 20 yard shuttle time in 9 years at 3.81

He had a blazing 60-yard shuttle too: 10.72

3cone was 6.76. Yikes!

I'll be very surprise if he doesn't make the probowl within his 2nd year in the league. Not that making the probowl is a major accomplishment nowadays.

If he could block he'd be the perfect guy for Roman's offense. Exactly what the Niners would need. Too bad he'll be a top 15 pick now. Maybe even top 10. I'm thinking he's the 2nd WR off the board.

Marqise Lee - WR - Trojans

USC WR Marqise Lee ran an official forty time of 4.52 at the NFL Scouting Combine.

His unofficial forty times -- 4.44 and 4.50 -- were a bit better, but this was still a disappointing output for a 5-foot-11 3/4, 192-pound receiver. Lee struggled a bit during an injury-plagued 2013 campaign, and he did himself no favors today in Indy. One should keep in mind, however, that Lee played through coaching staff turmoil and an awful QB situation at USC. He's also faster in pads than he is on a track. If a slide out of the first round is in store, some lucky team in the second round might just wind up with a star WR.

Louis Nix - DL - Fighting Irish

NFL Network analyst Mike Mayock called Notre Dame NT Louis Nix "a prototypical nose tackle."

Mayock, also an NBC Notre Dame football broadcaster, ranks Nix as the No. 1 defensive tackle prospect, followed by Timmy Jernigan of Florida State, Pittsburgh's Aaron Donald, Minnesota's Ra'Shede Hageman and Florida's Dominique Easley. "When you put all the composites of Louis Nix together — when he's healthy, when he's in shape, when he plays with leverage and doesn't stand up — when you put all that together, he's a top-20 pick," Mayock said.

Ryan Hewitt stayed after the RB workout to do a TE workout.

I have been saying the same exact thing for the past 9 months now. A few posters had even ridiculed me for it. I've said it once, and I'm going to say it again: We need to cut both LMJ and Dixon and draft this kid. We can get him in the 6th round (similar to Eagles getting Bryce Brown), but I would be comfortable in getting him in the 5th not to chance of losing him to another team in the 6th.

Isaiah Crowell - RB - Player

Alabama State RB Isaiah Crowell clocked an official forty-yard dash time of 4.57 at the NFL Combine.

He weighed in at 5-foot-11, 224 earlier in the week. More Crowell measurements: 23 bench reps, 38-inch vertical, and 9-foot-9 broad jump. They're solid measurables across the board for the onetime five-star Georgia recruit, who transferred to Alabama State after being thrown off the Bulldogs' team. Strictly in terms of talent, Crowell is the best running back in the 2014 class.

Donte Moncrief - WR - Player

Ole Miss WR Donte Moncrief clocked an official 4.40 forty-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine.

He was "unofficially" hand-timed as fast as 4.35. The speed is impressive considering Moncrief weighed in at a solid 6-foot-2 and 221 pounds earlier in the week. A favorite of NFL Films producer Greg Cosell, Moncrief seems to be flying under the radar at this stage of the draft process, but offers future No. 1A receiving potential. He's currently in the day-two hunt.

Bishop Sankey - RB - Player

Washington RB Bishop Sankey clocked an official forty time of 4.49 at the Combine.

He did 26 reps on the bench to rank second among running backs in Indy, and tied for fourth in the broad jump (10-foot-6). We were less impressed with Sankey during our initial tape reviews, but his Combine was very strong and he's currently Mike Mayock's No. 3 tailback prospect. We'll have to go back and study him some more. Mayock has likened Sankey to Giovani Bernard.

Ka'Deem Carey - RB - Player

Arizona RB Ka'Deem Carey clocked unofficial forty times of 4.65 and 4.62 at the NFL Scouting Combine.

The times are on the slower side for a 5-foot-9, 207-pound running back, though it was noticeable that Carey struggled with his start off the line on both of his runs. Carey is currently not listed among Mike Mayock's top-five running backs because Mayock believes he is strong in most areas, but lacks a "special" trait. We expect Carey to be a second-day draft choice.

With the Niners having three picks in the first two rounds, any chance they take two receivers. Was hoping Cooks would fall in the 30th spot, but with his amazing combine, he will probably go no lower than #20. I see the Lions, Steelers and Ravens all needing receivers. I was thinking Cooks in the first and Matthews in the 2nd, but it looks like Matthews might be round 1 pick.

Charles Sims - RB - Player

West Virginia RB Charles Sims clocked unofficial forty times of 4.47 and 4.48 at the NFL Scouting Combine.

They're very good times for a back considered "ordinary" in some circles. Sims has drawn Matt Forte comparisons for his size (6'0/214) and all-around game. He is the premier pass protector in this year's running back class, and can now add plus long speed to his resume. Sims is not quite a special talent, but has a chance to play early in the NFL. His on-field "FBI" (football intelligence) stands out consistently on West Virginia tape.

I'm still :laugh3: at the people who had Landry over Beckham.

:)

Landry's probably lost as much money as anyone today. There was talk about him in the first not so long ago. Given his measurements and now his 40-time (not sure if something happened to explain that), he could easily fall into the 3rd, 4th, or even later.

He's looking like a late 2nd rounder at this point. Maybe mid 2nd. No way he goes in the first now with all the other WRs looking so good.

Impossible. He was hurt last year but his first two years at USC were insane:

As a true freshman 73 receptions for 1,143 yards and 11 touchdowns
As a Sophmore 118 receptions for 1,721 yards and 14 touchdowns. Pac-12 offensive player of the year, Belitnikoff winner (first in USC history), and all-american.

If GMs ignore that kind of production because he ran a 4.5 40 at the combine, they are crazy. I'm pretty certain he goes in the first round and would love to have him on the Niners.
