Now Clowney says that he's just skipping a FEW of the drills but will do some of the others. More than a few people (not talking fans) are going to have a problem with that...guaranteed.

Charles Sims - RB - Player

West Virginia RB Charles Sims clocked unofficial forty times of 4.47 and 4.48 at the NFL Scouting Combine.

They're very good times for a back considered "ordinary" in some circles. Sims has drawn Matt Forte comparisons for his size (6'0/214) and all-around game. He is the premier pass protector in this year's running back class, and can now add plus long speed to his resume. Sims is not quite a special talent, but has a chance to play early in the NFL. His on-field "FBI" (football intelligence) stands out consistently on West Virginia tape.

Feb 23 - 3:44 PM

good.. so he is as fast as Clowney..

Dri Archer ran his 40 in 18 steps. That ties Calvin Johnson's all-time mark for fewest steps in a 40.

Now the word is that he has tight hip flexors and will only do the measureable drills later. Skipped the position workout.

Clowney is having trouble getting a clean vertical recorded. He tried it twice before finally getting a clean jump off. You get to hit the markers once and then you get to jump again to see if you can go up higher to hit more. That's the way they do it if you've never seen it.

Clowney recorded a 37 1/2 inch vertical. That's 1/2 inch off from being tied for 14th for the best DL vertical since 2006. Clowney wasn't pleased with either jump.

10 feet even (1st attempt) and 10 feet, 4 inches (2nd attempt) for Clowney on the broad jump.

If the 10 feet, 4 inch jump holds up after they post the official numbers, Clowney will tie Manny Lawson, Chris Long, Aaron Maybin, Nick Perry, Scott Solomon, and Trevardo Williams for the 9th best DL broad jump since 2006.

It looks like Cooks is jumping up the boards. 49ers have him as one of their "have to get Player." Besides Evans and Watkins it looks like Cooks might be their #1 option. I would love to land this kid. 1 problem we might have to trade up to get him now.

A lot of scouts are saying he is 100% a 1st rd pick now.

My info is coming from Matt Maiocco and Bill Williamson.

Daniel McCullers has a slight hamstring pull. He didn't run the 40 but he's doing the position workout. He's struggling in the early going. Could obviously be the hamstring.

Let's hope he falls to mid 20's or #30. Hopefully the Niners won't have to give up much. I was really impressed with Cooks.

Cooks 60 yard shuttle time of 10.72 is the fastest on record since 2006. His 20 yard shuttle time of 3.81 is tied for the fastest since 2006.

Cooks just blew that place up yesterday. Happy to see, but also worried he pushed himself to high for us. Also heard that Jordan Mathews was really good during interview process. Not surprising, I think he has an engineering degree from Vandy.

I wonder if we did a theoretical mock where cooks would end up... and specifically how many wr's we would go through in the first? I guess we should wait to the end of the combine cause I guarantee Fuller is gonna go all "Brandin Cooks" on us...
