As of right now the Mets are interested in every single quality short stop out there but the right deal just isn't there. I'm curious to see if team's asking prices come down as the offseason moves along.

Mets Not Likely To Acquire Tulowitzki ? MLB Trade Rumors

In order to pull off a deal for Tulo, Rockies need to eat some salary and lower their asking price. I understand he's the best SS in baseball but for how many games? He's not getting younger and his away stats are not on the astronomical level his home stats are.

Cubs and Mets seem like a good fit but each seems to be overvaluing their assets and can't agree on what they're worth.

Tulo and the Mets would be a perfect fit. Then his contracts can join Johan and Bonilla. :burt:

Do Syndergaard and Mejia get Castro from the Cubs? Mejia is a starter who has been converted to the bullpen but wants and should start. There are rumblings that the Mets have some interest in David Robertson which would make Mejia expendable.

Going to be interesting to see where Cruz ends up, if Boston doesn't keep Cespedes wouldn't mind them giving Cruz a look.

I'd say Robertson has no chance of landing that type of deal but crazier things have happened. I'd be ok with a 40/4 deal.

Interesting article there on the Braves. That team has certainly been a disappointment the past yr. or 2.

Article says we are trying to get more pitching. :L We have enough pitching, we need contact hitters you know guys who can put the ball in play instead of striking out every at bat. The problem with the Braves the last 2 years is we tried to put together a home run hitting lineup in a pitchers park. We need guys who play small ball. Also we just need to bite the bullet on BJ and let him go. I always thought he was overrated and was considered great because he had 1 good postseason. HE SUCKS.

I can just imagine Flablo hanging out with Boomer Wells at Randy Jones BBQ after games.

Jays sign Russell Martin. Jays spend money on free agent. Jays fan feels weird, unused to such events.

This is deserving of it own thread.... A five year deal worth $82 million is pretty decent for a catcher... I think this makes him the 3rd highest paid catcher.... And, it returns him to his birth city (and country)...

Very nice move by the Jays.
