I guess that opens up LF for Hanley Ramirez. Watching him try to play that will will be highly entertaining.

Well, not really..

Boston still has Victorino, Bradley , Betts, Castillo, Nava, Craig, & Ramirez (& Brock Holt) that can all play OF....

They'd like to trade Victorino, but he's coming off an injury and is making $13m. They'd like to trade Craig, but his value is at an all-time low....

But anyway... Boston is used to Manny Ramirez and Mike Greenwell in LF at Fenway. Surely they can stand Hanley.

So with the exception of moving Dillon Gee for prospects or help in the bullpen I think the Mets offseason is all but done. So as it stands:

-They'll likely have the deepest starting pitching depth in the majors
-Their bullpen should be well above average
-Their defense will be subpar with Cuddyer in left, Murphy staying at 2nd and Flores playing out of position at SS.
-They will rely heavily on the health and production of Cuddyer and Wright to win games.
-They need Flores and D'Arnaud to get their bats going.

Assuming they stay relatively healthy I think they will be competitive enough to actually be buyers at the trade deadline and fill in the slots they weren't able to in the offseason.

Yeah if the Rays win got to think they go to either Montreal or Charlotte.

Report: James Shields seeking five-years, $125 million

Former Royals pitcher James Shields is seeking a five-year, $125 million deal, according to the USA Today.

There were rumors Shields had received an offer worth $110 million earlier in the offseason, but turned it down because he didn't want to pitch for that club. It's unclear whether another team will pony up the cash for the 33-year-old. Though Shields is seeking a six-figure deal, teams are hoping to something closer to four-years, $80 million will get the job done. The Diamondbacks, Tigers and Blue Jays have all been mentioned as candidates for Shields recently.

Shields is coming off a season in which he posted a 3.21 ERA over 227 innings.

I guess some team might pay it? Thats a lot of dough for him though, especially with his post season struggles

Couldn't be more excited about this season in so many ways. As my love of pro football declines, I've never loved baseball more.

I hope Yankees sign that Cuban star. They need a bright young star to be the face of the Franchise.

Yeah, looks like a good team. 70-75 wins I think.

Plenty of good bullpen guys left, nobody wants to throw big money on relievers though.
