It was rather odd to watch because Poudrier broke into the clear, went full speed towards the net with the puck, got clipped by the stick of a chasing defenseman on his outside (right) leg, scored, went down hard and didn't hit the goalie, let alone injure him. I've heard in the last few days that this is impossible to do so many times that I've gotta think that the only explanation is that Poudrier is some sort of strange French-Canadian wizard. Some team should look to sign this savvy practitioner of the black arts as a free agent when this is done, that is an important intangible to have on your roster.

Wow, what a surprise that a Dale Hunter coached team would start gooning it up with just 4 minutes left in their season and getting their asses handed to them 6-2 by Guelph. London doesn't get to host another Memorial Cup for at least 20 years.

I think it's going to be a tight defensive game that could go to OT just like the previous game. Both teams have excellent goalies, I think Edmonton has a little more balanced attack offensively, so I would give the Oil Kings a slight edge.

I think Edmonton has a better chance to beat Guelph, but honestly this is Guelph's tournament to lose. And I don't think they will. On top of the fact that Guelph has looked like the class of the tournament handily beating every team they've played, the last 10 teams to go 3-0 in the round robin have won the Memorial Cup. I expect the semi-final to be a good game though, I'm looking forward to it. Hopefully the winner can find that gear in the final.

Man, am I excited to see this kid in camp this summer. Wonder if his touch will translate to the NHL? 122 points in 79 OHL games? Yowza.
