They have a crazy set of games though. They play every Pac team in the top 25 except USC.

I do think this should be a pretty darned good football team, but still a first season for him, and whatever QB makes it into Pac play against Stanford.

I stopped by the downtown Niketown after a meeting across the street this afternoon. They got the new UW jerseys and shirts. Got that tingly feeling as well.

Practice is in full effect. Heard Budda Baker dropped an INT by Carta-Samuels and he had to immediately run to the sidelines and do 10 push-ups in front of Marcus Peters.

Miles looked very rusty and threw back to back INTs to freshman DBs.

Reports were the Husky D looked agressive and sharp.

And on a sad note. Greg Bell whose done excellent work as the reporter for the UW athletic dept has excepted a job with the Tacoma News Tribune as their Seahawks beat writer. Congrats to him but he will be missed at UW.

It's a given Miles was gonna look rusty, difference from going out and throwing the ball around to your wideouts in the park then facing an actual covering defense...

I think this is were it's gonna get interesting, I know its a baby face secondary, but this unit could be very very good, something we haven't had here in a while...

Kasen Williams said he feels 80-85% healthy, but will be at 100% by game 1.

Troy Williams and Carta-Samuels each got picked off again today, but overall, the offense looked much sharper. Jeff Lindquist was reported to look the best of the bunch today.

All 4 RBs, Coleman, Washington, Cooper, and Callier, looking good.

Freshman WR Dante Pettis worked with Chris Petersen 1 on 1 on punt return drills.

Korey Durkee looked like money during Punt drills.

QB Troy Williams fumbled the ball running into the endzone. Defense recovered. Petersen blew the horn. Offense was the one running sprints post-practice today.

TE Darrell Daniels and WR Jaydon Mickens had big catches and runs for TDs today.

The first string Oline today was LT Hatchie, LG Charles, RG Atoe, and RT Riva. Tanigawa and Criste split time at C.

The practice finished with the QBs taking off the gold shirts meaning they could be tackled, and each got 3 plays to get in the endzone from the 5 yd line and done in hurry up mode.

Lindquist up first. RB Coleman scored on the 3rd play.

Williams completed a pass to TE Perkins but was ruled out of bounds. Williams fumbled on 3rd play.

Miles ran in for TDs twice and they called practice after that.

Coach Petersen ran the Huskies first full live scrimmage, running about 100 plays. No injuries to report and both sides of the ball performed well. :suds:

Freshman safety Budda Baker is ?going to be special' for the Huskies | Husky Football Blog | Seattle Times
Article about the status of UW's secondary. I think most of us have this as our biggest concern going into Pac play. A lot of youth in a league full of seasoned passers. No doubt there is talent back there, but some of these kids are going to have to get up to speed in a damned hurry. Looks like none of the true frosh are going to start, but Lakes is saying 5 could see significant game time this year. Including Baker of course who has also been taking some reps at return and special teams coverage.

Of all of the positions on the field, the 3 back there not named Peters will be high on my list of people to watch at the Hawaii coming out party. Want to see how sharp they look or if any look lost or like a deer in headlights.

Hey Wiz. Agree that the backfield is full of green and a legit concern. Especially against the pass happy PAC. But also nice to hear about how Baker and Hale have been doing in fall camp.

Can't freaking wait. Season tickets in hand and my party crew is ready for some tailgating.

Bring on the Chris Petersen era!

I don't think the Pac is ready for the coming storm...

Yeah. Theres a lot of questions. I mean, new coaches across the board, new systems, new qb and rb etc. But they seem like 2 + 2 type questions where the answers are obvious.

The PERFECT STORM brewing!
