Murphy agrees to a deal, avoiding arbitration...

Sources told ESPNDallas.com's Richard Durrett that the deal was worth $5.75 million -- the midpoint between the arbitration figures exchanged between the Rangers and Murphy on Friday.

Would like to see Murphy sign something in the range of 3 years 21 million, gives us a solid LFer for the next 3 years while some younger guys develop and Murphy gets paid, then when he's 35 both can decide what to do from there

I'm on board with that. I think if the OF stays the way it is and Murphy is our full time left fielder, it is going to cost us a lot more to sing him at the end of the year than it would now.

Also, I really hop Gallo pans out. That dude is showing Stanton power right now. He'd be here just in time to pick up where Beltre leaves off.

He rebounded in AA after a miserable start in AAA last year... believe he is still in the top 20...

#17 in this list -> 2012 Prospect Watch | MLB.com: Prospects

Not for a while, not nearly the prospect he is, he's a solid projectable guy, but by no means a sure thing

Juremi Profar will likely begin his career for the Rangers next year in the Dominican Summer League.

I don't think the Rangers saw anything, it wasn't discovered until his physical for the Red Sox

Everything on the Rangers side seemed concerned with his ankle

They were obviously concerned because of his physical issues last season and they Didn't make a qualifying offer. I think they were afraid that he might sign it.

Braves could get upton. Do the braves really have better prospects than texas?

I think it might be more of a matter if are the braves willing to get fleeced in order to acquire Upton?

I still ask why don't we dangle Olt to Atlanta for young pitching. They need a 3b in a bad way.
