So far so good for big Pelf. He seems to be doing better after his first few starts.
Nice leadoff double for Carroll. Maybe he can work for the leadoff guy. I didn't think it would be a good fit for and older player but he continues to surprise me.
EscoBomb!
2-0 Twins!
Yeah, I'm with ya on this one. Carrol is the consumate pro so he can work a count. Plus, there's still some juice in those legs, he just went first to third on a lazy single to left by Mauer.
That was sweet!
I make a phone call and now it's a tie game?
Phones should be off limits for me now.. lol
What are ya thinkin'? Stay off the damn Phone!
No shit, huh? For that matter, why the hell am I at work anyway? lol
I heard the big donkey connected with one. Should be nothing but K's for him the rest of the game now.
Good Posts Mr. Hockey! You are going to fit right in around here!
Its good to see you here, got any more Twins fan friends?
Thanks man, I came over here once CBS went all mental and got rid of message boards. Power told me to come here from the AL Central smack talk page. I have been trying to get a hold of all the Twins fans over on CBS but it's so hard to track people on that site now. Hopefully I can get some of those guys to show up.
Just started watching in the top of the 4th. Pelfrey still ticks me off. I see the offense looks good but we are not getting everyone in. 8 hits and 2 runs. Looks like we have had a couple of times with 2 on no outs and not getting them over and in. Cmon boys.
Right on, I think we (twins page) are all Fox refugees that wound up here because Fox blows, and we were sick of the jagoffs that spewed nothing but crap into their posts.
That was overall just a bad, bad game. Numerous chances to score runs that we didn't. Pitching was brutal and gave back runs at a key point as we grabbed momentum. Escobar with the horrendous d on a key play.
2-4 start to a home stand is not good. We really need the pitching to come alive quickly. I'm not expecting a division title but Id at least like us to hang around and be competitive through the summer.
Pelfrey... He is who we thought he was.
We let em off the hook!
Yeah, I think Plouffe makes that play, Plouffe is not the best defensive 3B-man, but I've seen him make many plays diving to the left and firing across. It seems to be a strength for him.
Also agree that if we can be right around the .500 mark, I consider the season a success, and also fun to watch.
With this season being what everyone knows that it is, a re-loading/building year, I sure hope we don't fall into the rut of running out the same old tired rag-arms like we have the past 2 years. I say give Pelfrey a few more starts, keep him on a short leash, if he can't figure it out and be consistant then bring up Gibson for a look.
I like Gardy, but my biggest complaint with him is his stubborness (sp?) he sticks with some guys for way to long, or he refuses to take a chance early on with a good young player to see what he's got in the bigs.
This year especially, if it ain't working cut bait and m ove on to the next guy to see who can get the job done.
