I didn't see the game, but it looks like it was a nice win for the Twins.
Plus I won my first bet with the SportsHoopla bookie, by betting on the Twins!
It might be a break even venture though because I also bet on the Wild winning and they are down 2-0 in the second period.

It was a good game. Diamond was great and then the bats blew it up in the 8th. Very nice win for the Twins. Also a nice win for your vCash. I wish I had been as bold!

I saw that on the Wild too. Didn't look good.

On to Baltimore. Hammel to start for them. And we'll see what big stinky Pelf can do. He had a good outing last start so I hope he can build on that and get it going.

That was a nice series for the Twins! For all the weaknesses they would appear to have they also have some hidden strengths that are now coming out. Should be a fun season!

Yeah, I hit that this morning......I mean......uhh,.....Doh! :L....you know what I mean.

Another nice win over the BoSox to take the series.

:yahoo:

Its a beautifull thing to take 3 out of 4 from the team with the best record going into the series, and not so much best record after the series!

I'm thinking his leash is getting shorter all the time, this team and season being what it is....maybe its soon time to cut bait to see what someone else can bring to the table.

Arcia is sure looking like a player. He has even shown clutch hitting ability! We must need to get rid of him though, we can't have a clutch hitter on the Twins...........Can we?

Some things never change; one of our seemingly endless supply of mediocre ex-Twin utility infielders is hitting .200 for Baltimore. I'll give you 2 guesses Buck!

On a similar note, It sounds like Nook Laloosh will be getting his first start in Pittsburgh tomorrow.

jrs - Swear to Gawd....I won't look it up, but Ill bet it's Casillo! Did you see that Nicky P. is still playing for the Dodgers? It shows how really desperate MLB is for players despite all the young guys coming up every year. Those two guys, Nicky & Casillo?? One man's junk....another man's treasure.

Yeah I've been keeping an eye on LNP. This year he's hitting .361 and has OBP of .451!
I'll admit that I always liked Punto. He was always dirty from head to toe, and gave everything he had. Has anyone noticed that we won when he was around, and as soon as he left,.......well you know the rest.

I liked Nicky too! Guys like him & Jamie Carroll can play the game all day and never make errors or stupid plays. They just can't hit very well and it grates on fans as the years go by, but they are a necessity on every team, there's no denying that.

I think the thing to do is for GM"s to trade them around the league every few years just to get the fans off their backs. Every once in a while one of these guys catches fire on a new team for a while and really helps out. Carroll was that guy the last few years when it was time to dump Nishi & Casillo.

You should try to get down to that Twins/Royals series in late August this year. There's a lot of jealous husbands down here so I may not be around much longer..............Ouch! Lucky again, it's just a flesh-wound!

I am amazed that Jamie Carroll is catching so much flack this season. He is a role player who is fullfilling exactly what the Twins are asking from him.

I never thought of it that way in regards to role players, but I think you are dead on with that thought!

When it gets closer let me know which games you are gonna be at.........good luck with the jealous husbands, oh my it sounds like there is a really good story behind this one; Do Tell!

It amazes me how many people who follow baseball don't understand the make-up of the roster and the relationship between ownership, the manger, and the GM. Players are parts of the whole machine. Some are picked for specific jobs only, others are interchangeable. The owner ultimately does the picking. Sure, the GM makes the trades, etc., but the owner has the final say. If the owner is a cheapskate you're gonna get crappy players in order to save money. If the owner doesn't really understand baseball you'll be constantly wasting money on the wrong players and there will be a constant change in managers and GMs.

How long could you stay in your business, jrs, if you always use cheap machinery designed for tasks other than what you actually do? Not Long! You'd be breaking down all the time, making no money, and losing contracts.

There's a reason, other than bad luck, for the Royals and Cubs being so bad. There's a reason for the Yankees and Cards always winning World Series, other than good luck. The answer is in the ownership....pure and simple. They understand their business and excel at running their teams. My friends over on Fox do not get this concept, which baffles me, but it makes for a constant discussion amongst us, which I thoroughly enjoy.
