Well, so much for that. I was all excited to see a sweep, and I just sat down with some pizza and a cold one to Hear Hanneman say that the game is postponed. :gaah:

I hear ya. I grilled up some goodies and had a cold one ready, then... :(

It was snowing here too but that didn't stop me from grilling. At least I can act like it's spring even though the weather won't.

Hey PC

I think we missed a big opportunity by not getting another shot at the Angel's in their current state. That team is just too good, with too strong of a line-up to stay slumping for long. The Angel's team we see for the make-up game is gonna be totally different. Our Twins team seems to be plagued with the same multiple personality disorder!
Oh-well on to Chicago, which Twins team will show up?

Yo jrs,
Yeah, a lot of teams and players are off to a slow start as it goes with the begging of a new season. Only a matter of time until the weather warms up and the players/teams will warm up right along with it.

Twins are hard to figure out kind of like you said, which team will show up. I am hoping the right team shows up in Chicago because the White Sox are the one team in the AL Central I get the most satisfaction out of seeing them take down a notch. Time for the Twins pitchers to prepare to rack up some K's on the big donkey aka strikeout king.

:laugh3: "the big donkey" :laugh3: Nicely done.
The big Dunn is not working out for them very well is he?
It looks like the weather isn't much better in Chicago right now either, I heard 5 inches of rain in the past day or so, with more on the way. Maybe it will be better by tomorrow. Hopefully they bring thier knee high boots with to play in.

Dunn can hit em far when he connects but he sure has a lot of whiffs!

I hope the weather clears up for the game. I'm getting sick of all the rain and snow. :mad2:

Yep, This crap needs to go away!
I hear sandbagging efforts are underway once again over there. From what I hear it sounds like they are confident that they are prepared to handle it. I hope so, stay dry!

They started off by making 1 million sandbags but now they opened up sandbag central again and are looking to fill another half million after all the new snow/rain. I am well out of the flood zone myself which is good but the whole thing just puts such a strain on the city every time.

I wish they would just make the diversion and be done with it. It's such a waste of time to have to go through this every year when a good fix is available. But as always, you know, politics, politics, politics, blah, blah, blah...:lame:

I agree 100% with you. I am amazed that year after year they can keep getting volunteers to fill sandbags when there is a viable solution to the problem. I guess if they can keep getting free labor rather than fix the problem correctly they might as well ??????
It kinda falls in the: "fool me once shame on you......fool me twice shame on me" category.
:wtf2:Take some of that big oil tax money and build the diversion. Sounds so simple don't it?

I guess the high school kids don't mind being pulled out of class to go fill sandbags every spring. It's been called free slave labor by some..

It seems so easy to just make the diversion but of course they always get hung up on something. I heard there is an issue with a guy who owns a rural bar/grill (Knickerbocker Liquor Locker) because the diversion would mean that he would have to change locations. I understand that it is his business/home that he has run there for many years but you would think that the sacrifice of one for the greater good of an entire city would be worth it. :2cents:

You are correct Bucko, I'm about to go fire up the plow truck for the second time today and plow most of the night. 6" of heavy wet snow.
It looks like this one missed PC, Misk and JR are getting their fair share though.

jrs - That's good shet....runnin' a snow plow. Yur' outta the house, it's deathly quiet, no one on the roads...it's just you, the truck, the heater blowing softly, and the radio playin' country music. C'mon...you gotta love country on a snowy night! I do miss that part of being up there. 6-hrs later when rush hour is on it's no fun at all. Turn it up, that's George Jones!!

Should be a good time!
