I thought the Flyers outplayed Tampa tonight but still found a way to loose. Talbot was a monster tonight, and at least Lavy saw that and moved him up to the 3rd line and moved Cooter down. Flyers hit 3 post and just cant get it done on the road. 0-11 now when trailing after 1 period, and 4-12 on the road, trends that continue. Game winning goal because the Flyers forward collapse too low and leave the points wide open, when is this gonna change?
They have to win like 80% of there remaining games to get just 8th, there done. Tank for fuck sakes, and they are only gonna drop considering they don't play until sunday now.
Those stats are really telling. This team gets down and they essentially give up. To be 0-11 when trailing after the first is embarrassing and completely unacceptable. You have an entire two periods to turn the game around and we have the offensive abilities to do just that. What exactly has happened to the "Never say die" attitude that we expect out of our team? It's insane.
It's painful to watch on a night to night basis. Our players and team as a whole have seemingly limitless potential, yet they appear to be the most inconsistent group that I've ever witnessed. I still don't believe we've won more than two games in a row all season long. That's laughable.
At the end of the day, you make your own luck. If we would just go to work every night for 60 minutes, we'd have a decent shot at making the playoffs and having success from there as well. The thought of tanking hasn't even crossed my mind. That's the last thing I would suggest we do, even if it may be in the best interest of our team long term. I'd much rather try to win 12-13 of the last 18 games and get into the postseason. If the Kings can do it, so can we.
