Perhaps he feels at home now that there is a heaping pile of dog shit in front of him. Reminds him of the coyotes.

:L:L

Actually, you could be on to something. Plenty of times down the stretch last year, Bryz was lights out when the team in front of him was awful.

And yes, awaz. Gervais has been quite solid, much better than the Lilja clone I excpected.

Ya he's been a pleasant surprise. But when Bruno gervais is your 2nd best dman and 1 of 2 NHL caliber skaters, you're gunna have a bad time.

Any idea what is going on with Giroux? He's no where near the sane guy we have seen in recent past.

I think the pressure is getting to him. The flyers offense is abysmal and it falls on him. I literally thought to myself, 'who do I even want on the ice to try and get this goal'. I didn't have an answer. I mean ya gotta put G out there because he has it in him, and briere in the past as come through. But relative to expectations, G might be the flyers worst forward. And briere is 5'8 with a broken wrist, it's a little much to ask him to do it himself. Simmons? Hands of stone. Read? I think I hear his name once tonight. Voracek? Benching him wouldn't bother me at all. Coots and Schenn are sophomore slumping. Talbot isn't a goal scorer. Where do you turn? Knuble?

The sad thing, this team with a healthy Mez and Hartnell, along with how Bryz is playing, could be totally lethal. Unfortunatley, we dont have that kind of time to get healthy. Gotta win now.

Captain's Curse.

It's not a captain's curse. It's the flyers brass getting so worked up over who wears the C and an obsession with putting it on the star's sweater. Veterans should be captains, not 25 yr olds. You don't wanna hurt your best players feelings, use 3 A's

And uber small miniscule optimistic look at tonight, we were playing the best goalie in the world. Maybe the offense comes out against someone not so beautiful...?

I know it's early, but I'm not liking this team to do squat this year. They are just a mess. The Rags were not even that good tonight and they still won. Lavi needs to light this team up if they have any pulse.

I do not think Giroux got the C just because he is a star, he has shown us before he is certainly the leader and alpha-male of this team. Maybe giving it to Kimmo would have been a better option for the year, but that would just be delaying the inevitable. Clearly Laviolette felt Giroux was ready.

Unfortunately it's hard to take solace in that. I think lundqvist had 1 good save tonight. (Briere on the doorstep)

It is inevitable, but why rush inevitable? Just because he has the fire and leads like a captain doesn't mean you have to put the C on his shirt. Especially in Philly. There's enough pressure on a slumping superstar, he doesn't need to be the focal point for the team sucking ass too. I think he battles through it cause he's the man, but I jus don't like it. Too much ummecessary pressure on the guy

Luke's slapper at the end of the 1st, as well as the great pressure we put on (Finally) with the extra attacker. (However, the defense shut us down there more than Henrik)

So maybe I sould clarify...

And uber small miniscule optimistic look at tonight, we were playing the best defense in the league. Maybe the offense comes out against a defense with less Italians...? :D

Well, Del Zotto and Girardi anyway. There is a Tortorella joke in there somewhere, too.

Lol, I will give you that. I fuckin hate the rangers. Their collapsing bull shit is worse than the damn trap. What a boring hockey team.

With or without the C, I think Philadelphia turns and points at Giroux right now. Even before he was the captain, he was this team's focal point.

I will point to these 7 games next year when Bryz gets flack for being a product of Tippet's system.

Probably not too long before we just call it a 'product of Murray's system'
