well he did see Lulay getting hammered v the tabbys the week before ... it was only a matter of time with that oline that a new qb had to come in ... demarco starts this week anyways

CFL announced it has fined Saskatchewan Roughriders safety Tyron Brackenridge for a dangerous hit to the head on Chad Kackert.

I need to stop reading threads on riderfans.com, they were celebrating that hit that knocked Kackert out with a concussion.

Also, instead of fining guys after the fact, how about getting officials to make a personal foul/unnecessary roughness call at the time the hit happens? The last two times a Rider player has gotten away with a helmet-to-helmet hit, not only has no penalty been called, but the Riders ended up with the ball as they recovered a fumble on both occasions.

No more Braley Bowl after 2016?

According to a report in the Hamilton Spectator, David Braley plans to sell both the BC Lions and Toronto Argonauts by 2016.

The report stated the 72-year-old Ontario Senator told supporters at a Progressive Conservative fundraiser in Hamilton that he will sell his two CFL franchises by the time he is 75.

Braley said he has seven people interested in buying the Lions and three people interested in the Argonauts. Selling the financially stable Lions will be easy but it could be a different story with the Argos, with the team still losing money.
Braley anticipates the Argos will eventually make money once a new stadium is secured for the franchise. He said three communities are looking at land for the new stadium and a location, as well as the finances to secure the new stadium, should be completed within a year.

Both the provincial and federal governments are expected to help finance a new stadium.

The Argos announced a new deal to keep the team playing at the Rogers Centre until 2017 with an early opt-out clause for the team should they want it. Both parties also agreed that no licence renewal past that date is contemplated.

Lions will be purchased by the "waterboys" group led by Dennis Skulski

dont remember if this was brought up here but looks like MLSE will buy the Argos (think it was in a Brunt article) ... theyve already announced that they have expansion plans for BMo field ... included in those are the switch back to a polytan turf surface which made TFC fans howl (... again) ... argos would move there

Lots of Canadians on the hockey board. Enough interest for a good active thread, probably not enough for a board of its own.

We've got catch-all threads here for NFL, MLB(sort of), golf, tennis, junior hockey, soccer, etc.
Many of us tend not to stray too far from the nhl board, so we build everything we need right here.
Oh, we have a zombie thread too
