A little surprising but since Tim isn't starting, and Posey did catch Zito for his tremendous game 5 in St Louis, this is ok with me.

A little suprised he's not DHing at all, as his hitting slump may be due to being tired from all the catching. But as we pointed out, some risk DHing your second catcher.

If that means Huff = DH though...

Gotta stop microexamining this stuff. Bochy >>>> us and that's all there is to it

I'm seeing and hearing a lot of "Tigers in five" commentary.

Yeah ... seems to be the general consensus ... but they are all full of shit .... if the Tiggers win in 5 they will all say they knew it was going to go that way .... Giants had no chance .... if we pull an upset these same idiots will now tell us they knew it was never going to be easy .. with the SF rotation and their scrappy offense it was never a sure thing .... Giants could never be counted out

The good thing for Philly fans is that your ownership group is dedicated to winning and aren't tight with the purse strings. I'm sure Philly will be back to where they're accustomed to being soon. Just gotta fight off those pesky Nationals now.

Ha! Not yet, though I probably should think of retiring as a full time poster some time soon. I never realize how much time I'm on here when I could be doing chores around the house. This site is my ultimate procrastination tool.

I'm not sure I'll ever stop posting here completely, especially if the rest of you assholes stay on here and post . Now if the majority of posters here were to leave for good, I probably wouldn't stay. I really like/appreciate this community of Giants fans. The posters here on this Giants forum are funny, entertaining, informative, and sometimes cathartic (venting, lol).....I just may not be here daily doing 10+ posts per day, lol.

Ive been stuck at work during most of these early playoff starts, too

Following the game day threads has its own sense of drama

Plus this board's been in existence (for most of us) for 3 years now. 2 playoff runs and 1 ring later (hopefully more!) its been a fun run, welcome!

I found myself arguing with some tiger and cardinals fans at the bar. I wanted to just enjoy the game but one of the regulars changed the big screen to whatever college football game was on. So I had to talk to them. According to them the Giants are lucky and huge underdogs. Really?

I know the Giants won more games during the regular season 94-88 plus the Giants have home field. Now I’m looking through orange colored glasses but, my understanding of match-ups would favor the Giants. More wins plus home field.

So I looked up some team stats and was surprised to find the Gs finished
10th in steals-I like speed
1st in total sacrifices-1# Playing small ball
Detroit and their “great offense” scored 8 more runs on the season than the Giants. 726-718

Detroit has the big three but who cares this isn't basketball. Go GIANTS!
