Doubtful. I think the Tiger's right-handed dominated pitching staff works in Huff's favor, but I'd still rather give all of Huff's potential AB to Hector.

Huff give us nothing on the field. No bat speed, no foot speed, no defense, nothing. I doubt he will somehow elevate his game just because he is playing the Tigers. Sadly, he hasn't had any game in 2 years. I will always remember his contributions in 2010, but the Giants would be making a mistake to keep him on the active roster. I think that Sabes and Bochy will do the right thing.

I overstated. Arias v. Hector is close offensively, but Arias at 3B is a defensive upgrade, whereas Hector at DH adds no D. Overall advantage to DHing Arias.

And yes, I am assuming Panda won't be negatively affected at the plate by not playing 3B. I have no evidence to the contrary.

I do not agree. Posey can DH and Hector can catch. If something happens to Hector and he comes out of the game, either Buster goes behind the dish and the pitcher hits or Panda moves to catcher and Arias plays 3B.

Anything else would be Whiteside's fault.

Also, DHing Posey gives his legs a rest. If playing 1B is considered an off day, DHing means he does not even have to wake up in the morning.
