To which you have contributed your fair share (Both negative entertainment value and wasted electrons). "Look ma, the kettle is black".

My fair share was me trying to tell you gently, and with humor, to stop being so argumentative about such a minute point. A point that everyone completely grokked, if not prior to your post, then immediately after the first mention. As tzill succinctly put - "the 40 is not an issue". Move on.

Next topic......is "completely grokked" an oxymoron?

Nope - more the opposite. Not a tautology, let's just say ... "completely" wasn't needed - "grokking" is total.

MiLB.com article on Crick:

The 19-year-old hit as high as 99 mph on the radar gun, but stayed mostly in between 94-98 with his fastball -- the best in his four-pitch repertoire. However, the more impressive feat may have been that Crick was able to produce those numbers by experimenting with the changeup, a pitch he didn't need much during his dominant days at Sherman High School in Texas.

Without seeing a single AB, sounds like troubles with breaking pitches. I've still got hope because why not?

I read somewhere that he's late on fastballs in on the hands. The Richmond hitting coach was said to be working on changing a few things in Brown's swing/setup. Can't find a link anywhere, though. Might have been a baggs chat.

Kieschnick to the DL.

Kieschnick has since been put on the disabled list. He said he has been told he doesn't need surgery for the fracture in his left shoulder but does need to rest it. As a right-handed thrower and left-handed batter, the fact that it's his left shoulder qualifies as minor good news, as it should cause fewer problems for a return to the field -- "for being a fracture, it was probably the best-case scenario," he said.

You dare forget about Blackburn?!?!?!??! :tsk:

Yet another...

So many guys in the system that look to have a seriously legit shot at #3 or better careers...

Crick looks to be the only one with #1 potential, though...

Andrew Baggarly ‏@CSNBaggs: #SFGiants optioned RHP Steve Edlefsen to triple-A Fresno and recalled RHP George Kontos from Fresno.

Does Kontos count as a prospect?

He's an old prospect, but I'd say you could still call him one. Not his fault he was in a system that buys talent at just about every position for the big club. Had he been in the farms of teams like the Royals, AAA's, Astros, ect... He'd probably have been up a lot earlier than his brief cup of joe in 2011.

He has nice k/9 numbers, and his k/BB ratios are pretty damn good at 3.01 for his minor league career.

.... double post, don't judge me!

With the addition of a talent like Stratton, it makes me feel way better about or minor league system. Combine that with Crick and Blackburn doing what needs to be done in low A, and the future looks bright.

I know we have more SP in the system, but those three are easily my favorite Giants in the minors right now.
