In general, I've heard more scouts tell me this year that the gap between Triple-A pitching and the majors has never been bigger. Part of that is a general dilution of talent. Part of it is the desire for more major league teams to keep their top pitching prospects at Double-A.

Giants 2012 10th Rd draft pick Trevor Brown ( UCLA - C ) is the only Giant draftee playing in the College World Series starting Tomorrow for those interested in checking him out .UCLA vs Stony Brook 2:30 West Coast ESPN 2

The Giants plan on using him as a catcher even though he has played most games this year at 2nd and 1st , a versatile player .

Pretty bland, with just a couple exceptions, Chuckie Jones and RafRod. Hopefully there will be a couple kids who decide to turn on the spotlight.

Not a top prospect, not even really a prospect anymore, but Jackson Williams is actually hitting a little bit in the PCL: .264./.290/..479

If he keeps this up he might get a few major league AB at some point. Although, probably not with the Giants.

Not sure Crick and Blackburn equate to Timmeh and Bum, but it is nice to have a couple studs down there again...

Signs of life in Gary Brown; he reached .260 in Richmond (.332 OBP .340 SLG). He's been hot in his last 10 games - BB/K ratio of 1 over that span.
