You didnt mis hear it. The ball was downed by contact with a player out of bounds, if tosu player had touched it first while out of bounds it would have been downed and a turnover

I think you're wrong. It was just a dead ball going to the last team that possessed it. Doesn't matter who touches it, it's dead.

I don't think so. It was the same as if the ball touched the sideline. I could be wrong. Idk cfb rules as well as pro.
