2 Broke Girls and 2 and a Half Men have become utterly unwatchable.

2 Broke Girls: Absolutely everything about this show is bad, and I mean really bad. Writing and acting set new standards in sucking. Emphasis on the horrible "comedic acting" of Kat Denning, who is not only unattractive (tho' she appears oblivious to this) but smirks after every bad line as if she said something humorous. I doubt if there is anyone in the audience who ever finds reason to smirk, let alone laugh.

2 and a Half Men: Good Lord is this show bad, and I used to like it. It's not cuz of Ashton, but I submit that the writing now is the worst in the history of sitcoms. The ugly oversexed lesbian niece, Jon Cryer's character, and Lindsey are utterly despicable people without a funny line to be found between them. Utter crap! I'd rather watch Honey Boo Boo's family having group sex with the Justin Bieber clan.

But God, do they make the money. SMH.

I actually think Ashton has done fine as Walden.

But you're right, they are playing off Alan being a lowlife way too much. Completely over done and the lesbo just sucks. The actress is god awful. You could pick any woman at random and they could do better.

Never have seen Two Broke Girls. Looks awful. Haven't seen any of 2.5 Men since Charlie went all Tiger Blood. Also looks terrible. (The fact my grandmother is into that show bothers me.)Modern Family is funny as hell though. Other than Seinfeld reruns that's about it for me SitCom wise.

Sitcoms are, by rule, pretty horrible. But, like all rules, there are exceptions.

Currently, the only sitcoms that I watch as cant-miss are HIMYM and Archer. HIMYM is really only out if habit, though, as this season is almost painful-dull. They are really milking this meeting too much, IMHO.

As for which are utterly unwatchable, since I don't watch many, I cannot speak on the subject.

2 Broke Girls has a big following with the hipsters because Kat Dennings promotes them and disses them at the sametime so it covers all the hipster bases. Same thing with Zoey Deschanel.

Hipsters = Make a big deal out of something they think is unique, but then act like they aren't sheep for following it because they were into it long before everyone else was. Like their obsession with PBR beer.

First few times I saw it I was saying 'this is not funny,' but I'd always have it on in the background when nothing good was on and over time I grew to love it.

Big Bang Theory is brutal. If you're bored youtube Big Bang Theory no laugh track. It's uncomfortable how unfunny it is.

The problem with most sitcoms, particularly CBS sitcoms, is they rely too heavily on the laugh track and follow the all too simple equation of "here's the setup" and "here's the punchline!". Good comedy is unpredictable. The best comedies of the past decade (HIMYM being an exception) don't feature a laugh track.
