To be fair that loss was in the 2nd half of the season. Nebraska finished the season (4-2) with their two losses being by 5 to Ohio St and by 3 to Iowa.
It was not the same Nebraska that started (0-6) with it's first year head corch.
That loss was more on Michigan State’s Offense than anything Nebraska did. The end of the season, pretty much after our only offensive weapon, Felton Davis, got injured the offense ceased to exist. Against Ohio State the offense put more points on the board for Ohio State than it did for Michigan’s State.

That doesn't take away from the fact that Nebraska was a better team in it's last 6 games than it was in it's first 6.

So how exactly did a non conference champ in Ohio State get in over their conference champ in Penn State? Are you going to be a conspiracy theorist and say that it’s because it was for the tv ratings?

Penn State had 2 losses.
Ohio State had 1 loss.

Had PSU beaten Pitt, they would have undoubtedly been in the playoff.

UCF doing the "Bama". Smart, very smart. That's how you win REAL NC's!

If UCF gets into the playoffs? Whoever they play is getting a first round bye.

Maybe, maybe not. If they hadn't gotten totally crushed by Michigan they probably would have been in the playoffs.

Maybe but still had they beaten Pitt they would have definitely been in. Where as if the Michigan game would have been respectable they would have been likely out.

So the reason why all 4 playoff teams from last year is because they are only listing the contenders... is everyone missing that point or am I missing something?

It's a bleacher report article. Take it for what it's worth. ND plays Georga and Michigan on the road and they made this list. Plus Louisville and VT-those programs were down last year but that type of schedule should put them on the most difficult schedule in 2019 list.

I'm guessing there are multiple decent G5 schools who have questionable OOC opponents and an easy conference schedule.

My school has Oregon State away with McNeese and Tulsa at home OOC. Our hardest conference away game is Texas and I don't think we have lost there since the Bush administration. It's an easier schedule than half of the teams on the list.

Nebraska's schedule looks to be easy. 2019 should be at least a TD improved in year 2 under Frost and very well could be the 2015 version of Iowa.

South Alabama
@ Colorado
Northern Illinois
@ Illinois
Ohio St (new corch)
Northwestern
@ Minnesota
Indiana
@ Purdue
Wisconsin
@ Maryland
Iowa

(No Michigan, Michigan St, or Penn St)

5 of Nebraska's losses last season were by...

5 pts - Colorado
5 pts - Troy
3 pts - @ Northwestern (OT)
5 pts - @ Ohio St
3 pts - @ Iowa

They started 2018 (0-6) and finished (4-2) with the losses being by 5 pts @ Ohio St and by 3 pts @ Iowa.

I don't think you have a playoff team yet but with that schedule you have a real shot at a NYD bowl.
